St James pub is a couple of blocks farther away but pretty decent.

I had a similar experience at Ed's as well.

The staff made me feel like they were doing me a favour.

The food was okay.

WORST vietnamese food in the city. DO NOT go there. They pre-cook everything, their broth is horrible, and it's way overpriced for the ass food you get.

If you want better the only place in the area is Lotus.

I'll put in another few votes for Olives and Loungeburger, also throw in La Vitta e Bella right next to the Stampede Casino. Pretty good Italian fare.

And once your belly is full of Loungeburger goodness, walk a block north and get a tattoo or peircing at Big Bamboo Studios.
