I'm surprised he broke down and confess to two murders as easily as he did.
The interrogator did a fantastic job.

25 years until he's eligible for parole, the Crown was actually savvy in not going for the dangerous offender designation in this case.
It sounds like he will spend the rest of his life in solitary confinement.

I want to hear more about the link between Williams and Paul Bernardo. I think they went to the same University or ran in the same social circle for a while. How weird is that? Even if they only had a small acquaintance with one another, what are the odds? Very weird.

Some incredibly raw and disturbing testimony and evidence over the last few days. The man is obviously a monster that should be stripped of all legal rights. Shoot him. Simple as that. I'm not trying to encite discussion or argument, I honestly believe that in a case like this, confessed and all, let's just be done with it (him).

it's in cases like these where i actually support capital punishment. there's absolutely no doubt in the verdict and the crimes are horrible enough to justify a lethal injection. if the murderer wants to die then all the better, straight to the front of the line with no appeals. why should honest people have to pay to feed and shelter such a worthless human being like this?

I see what you're saying, but unfortunately with the three squares a day, a nice gym, movies and tv, magazines and what not it is not nearly the kind of torture that this freak deserves.
I'd be all for a little torture before he "passed" but that would not ever be legal, nor should it be I suppose.
I don't want to pay for this......I don't even know what to call him (have you read the transcripts?)...to live out his days. One bullet. You'd have no trouble finding a volunteer to shoot it.

I say throw him in a hole for the next 30-40 years. Give three meals a day and keep the lights on 24/7.

I'd rather see him put in with the general population. Prison justice is usually swift and unmerciful.

His pension that he so worried about, that his wife will get I guess, should go to a victims of crime fund or something like that.

Why punish his wife. It sounds like this was the primary income earning. He had also put his time in to earn that pension, so he is vested and it is due to him.

That's where I was going with that. If the wife had no clue that her husband was a freak, why should she get punished?

I guess because in some way that would punish him, as he seems pretty concerned about it.

Exactly my thoughts. His wife is a victim in all of this too. Unlike Karla Homolka, she knew nothing about her husband's double-life and terrible crimes until after his arrest and confession. If she was depending on her husband's pension to provide for her retirement, why should she be deprived of that because of crimes she had no part of? Can you imagine what it must be like for her right now, to discover in shocking detail that someone she loved was secretly a monster?

I do know that with the guilty plea he has to pay back his $12,000 per month salary from the time that he was arrested and charged.
I doubt the government is going to sue the guys wife, the optics wouldn't be good.

I think the Eye for an Eye justice would be applicable. Let him suffer what his victims suffered.

Frankly as long as that money doesn't go towards him in any way shape or form I think that the pension should be maintained, if for no other reason than they would have to rewrite the National Defense Act otherwise... and hopefully the whole serial rapist/murderer thing is only a one time occurrence within the Canadian Forces - especially someone at his level of power.
I do feel bad for the wife, I am sure she had inklings that something wasn't right over time, but those are the things someone pushes to the back of their mind, who would ever suspect anyone of this. In all seriousness the, "tell my mom I love her" brought a bit of a tear to my eye, I can't even imagine what she went through.
I say a small room with lights on 24/7 will be more torture - I mean locked in a room with nothing but your thoughts....

My understanding is that one or both of the rape victims will be suing.
There was some allegations that this whackjob and his wife had done some creative asset splitting once he was being investigated in order to avoid paying up, but I doubt that will work.
I hope the victims get adequate compensation.
