I'd have put 2 in the brainpan if I ever worked there. Honestly.

You mean you worked there as an adult? Did you also have to wear that ridiculous mouse costume? That place gives me horrors

Or a time that someone did plugs/cap/rotor/wires and just put the old crap back in the box and they took it back and put it on the shelf. Ditto with an air filter once.
Idiots.

Yup. When I was 16 and first started driving I rubbed my dads bumper on a a trucks tire (his car was lowered and the tire was turned) so I went to Canadian tire and bought touch up paint, NuFinish, some pad thing and silver spray paint. I used it all, while still in there parking lot and returned 10 minutes later.
Worked like a charm. Well the paint did atleast

I was 19 or 20, so not really an adult, and yes I got to wear the costume, I loved that part though.

Tampa Bay Lightning hockey club. Easily the cheapest company I've ever worked for.

HaHa, that's the main reason I give the company I work for a pass.
Junior mining companies are pretty funny to watch how they save money. They usually pay us pretty good but give us a shoestring budget. I would complain about it but I managed to get everything we wanted to get out of 2 years of drilling, got the work done on schedule, and the results met or exceeded expectations-makes me think that maybe they knew what they were doing.

The company I currently work for might be the cheapest. I'm currently re-using post its because its not worth the interrogation to get a new pack of them. I suppose its not that they're cheap, as much as there are people in charge who think cutting back on post its is a way to save money rather that increasing efficiency.

Eating left over food is time honored right of the dish pig. It is one of the few perks of an otherwise terible job. The best was working at a place with a buffet.

That's like the company I work for, re-use the post-it notes to save money, ignoring the cost of erasers and the time taken to erase what's on them.
The accountant wanted me to itemize my cell phone bill that I would submit. I generally took an hour of company time to do it and it would save the company between $3-7 a month in expenses, problem is that my wage is several times that amount. Stupid accountants...

At my most recent evaluation, I was happily told I was the best at customer service in my department...and that I would receive a raise of $0.50/ hour, to be added to a wage that was not great to start lol!
Better than nothing, but still crappy.

I worked for a restaurant that got after employees for using straws and napkins (for staff meals) and claimed that was the reason for no raises. Oddly, when everyone stopped using straws, the raises did not follow.
This is the same company that in a staff meeting, raised tip-out without warning or discussion and managed to tell all of us with a straight face that each server makes more annual income than the 2 owners.

Ha! I used to bus tables at Chi Chi's. All the stale tortilla chips and watery salsa I could eat.

-Overnight stock person at Wal-Mart, assigned to stock the furniture section solo, and they locked us in all night so escape became impossible. $7/hr (including $1/hr overnight shift 'premium').
-At Wendy's as a sandwich-assembler, was paid $4.25/hour and one day asked during the same shift to a) clean a drain pipe in the dry storage area using a toothbrush and b) venture out into the Hoth-like conditions to ensure that a garbage bag that was showing through the lid of the trash can was tucked neatly inside and no longer visible. Because I imagine all Wendy's customers are immediately turned off of their impending Big Bacon Classic combo when they drive up to the restaurant and see the top of a garbage bag lining the trash can.
Strangely, I never lasted long at these jobs and yet was confused when I would start a new one and it didn't seem a lot better by comparison.

Me, I would have left the "Hoth like" planet you were living on...

When I first moved to Calgary in 1976, I worked for an Architectural firm, that made us pay for the coffee. If that wasn't bad enough, they used the coffee that the employees paid for, to serve thier clients during meetings etc. This was supposed to be a professional firm. How they are still around is beyond me.

No one has ever worked for a cheaper / worse company than me.
This company spent 16% (roughly) of it's gross income on the boss' girlfriend(s). To say nothing of what the boss spent on his wife and kids. After that gets taken off the top of the budget there wasn't a lot left for machine tools.
And if anyone wants to challenge my claim, bring it. I'll match you story for story.

The financial company - not a small company either - I worked for last summer suffered from the first two points in the op, and the last one about treating employees like doodoo
Not fun. Idk how people can stomach working for employers like that for years on end.
