Correct me if I am wrong, but the little grey, superscript number beside the player's attribute is the likely maximum value, correct?
So obviously I should be using the players w/ high potential for certain roles. It is a little odd that my goalie has the potential to be my #1 forward (if I am reading this correctly).

Added, and accepted your friendlies! Between you, chalms and me we can probably have a good amount of games between us.
For the players, I kinda assumed the same thing, but I've seen some players with stats above their grey #'s...maybe kendal could clarify it?

Hey sorry been away from the computer and out in real life lately. The grey attribute marks is the quality of each attribute; so the higher they are the better they will train that skill. They can still have higher actual numbers in the end than the quality. I.e. The national goalie for Team Canada right now (Noah Tierney) has something like 500 OR, and like 150 goalie rating, which is much higher than the max quality value of 99.

I see that a bunch of people signed up with my link! You guys who are just starting the game should give me your referral link and I'll put that up instead of mine because if some new people do keep joining and make it to 50 experience you guys can get the free credits, not me. I really don't care about credits so you guys don't have to join through my link haha.

Good game today between chalms and myself...we had a Friendly on Saturday with me winning 10-4, today was a much closer 5-3 win for the good guys!
Special teams won it for me, PP goes 2/3 and PK 6/7 with a shorty.
Can't wait for the friendly rematch, this time an away game...already shaping up to be a good rivalry for the year
Edit: Forgot to add, congrats to Chalms last week for your goalie making the all-star team (best goalie of the week award or something like that)

Tied my game 1-1 today against a team I thought I could beat. Both goalies were on fire which hurts my team, since my shooting is so weak. (make sure you guys to train shooting from the get go, keep it within 10-15 points from offense) Have a few easy games coming up so hopefully I can string a few wins together and make my team look respectable in II.1.

Also signed up last week when I saw this thread, and I'm really digging it so far. Wanted to say thanks a lot for the tips J, as I'm pretty sure they've kept me respectable so far. I inherited a team that was 0-1 with a 14-4 loss, but have since turned it around with a narrow loss and 2 wins.
I'd love to get some people to sign up, but can't find a referral link to paste? Little help?
Should also mention, my team is The Glass Tigers, in league IV.8
Already booked in for a couple "friendlies" with Hades, but welcome to more down the road, pretty wide open schedule.

So a few of you guys must be coming up close to 10 manager experience now. Once you do you should post on here and I'll put up a few of my veterans on the market for cheap so you guys can improve your team. You have to make sure not to go too crazy with the market once you have access to it, but you should try to pick up a goalie and one or 2 veteran players to help improve your team faster

I was reading around, and it seems like some people advocate pretty much buying your whole team at minimum market value (so players with low potential/longivity but high overall) until you can 'draft' enough good players from your sports acadamy. The theory being you can win your league and playoffs and collect the millions in prize money at the end of the year, plus you attract more fans or something..
Seems something the Flames may do, so maybe I'll do that
In all seriousness, is it worthwhile to buy maybe a line's worth of players? And is it a good idea to sell useless players (ovr ~100-110 with no potental) or just let their contracts expire?
Thanks!

It is a lot like hockey arena, it was created by some people who worked at hockey arena but felt it was missing something so they created this. You'll find it has a whole lot more intricate details you can work with with your team, makes it a lot more fun than HA.
