Its an old relic I have had laying around.

I still have about 80 - 100 casetes that I still listen to when I have time.

Mostly old 80's Hard Rock / Metal......

we got this one from IKEA, then put these castors underneath. It makes moves the cabinet to access the wiring behind, or to move the TV to a different place in the room so easy.

There's tonnes of different sizes and colours, and different ways to outfit the interior of the cabinet as well. We put drawers for media storage in ours, with a sliding door in front of the drawers, so that only three of the six drawers can be opened at any one time.

Another reason why I love my DLP... comes with a stand specifically designed for my TV.

Where did you get it from? Do you remember how much it cost?

Holds everything I had in my old stand up unit.
Why did you choose that over the Markor?

I quite like the Markor line personally....

1. $$$ Saved a 100 bux on mine.

2. The Markor one placed the TV too high for my liking. Closer to the ground makes for less mess when my kids knock it over....

^ The one you got is nice. Thinking of picking it up soon. Difficult assembly?

I got mine from IKEA. It looks similar to this:

http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/S59853441

I bought the 120cm cabinet and flanked it with the 30cm cabinets on both sides. I opted not to get the sliding doors because I didn't like the look of the hardware that goes across the fronts. So I installed the glossy brown wood grain doors on the 30cm cabinets with hinges and really subtle pulls. I left the center 120cm cabinet open for all my components and future components. I also bought the square chrome legs that have a chrome piece that runs along the bottom of the cabinet.

Overall I am pretty happy with it and I like the clean modern look of it. It allows me to fit all my components in the open shelves and it also lets me throw loose cables, remotes, controllers in the cabinets with the doors keeping everything looking tidy. Unless I buy a much larger TV in the future it will allow me to build up cabinets on the sides and above the TV if I want to.

The only downside was the cabinets don't have holes in the back for cables to run through. So I had to drill them all manually. Also the cabinets themselves are not very deep so I had to carefully plan were to drill my holes so the cable could go straight out instead of snaking behind the component and pushing it out over the line of the shelf. It look a little time and patience but you would never know I had to do it from looking at the front. If anyone is interested I could take a picture and post it.

About 45 minutes....with a 6 year old helping.

I usually glue the wood pegs in as well for stability.

I have a friend that gets me stuff at cost. about $180 for a nice wood/glass tv stand that would fit a 50"+ tv.

So 250-400 wouldn't seem unreasonable if you can't get it at cost.

I just won a 65" tv myself so I'm thinking of upgrading my viewing area as well.
