A good chunk of those movies could have been filmed in 2009 and all the post production is currently being done...

I pay the studio to see him in movies. What the studio pays him and whatever he does with that money is completely independent from me.

Thats like saying I'm supporting child porn addicts that work at wal mart because I'm buying stuff at walmart.

I think him and Matt Damon are in a competition to see who can make more movies.... They seem to be in everything now...

Tom Hanks is still the man tho

Johnny depp is probably my favourite actor. I don't rush out and see all of his movies (never seen the carribean's for example) but he seems to play a different character each movie and does so well.
Yeah, you're right. There's no range between 6 Degrees of Separation, The Legend of Bagger Vance, The Pursuit of Happyness, 7 Pounds...

Sure, he's primarily an action actor, but I don't understand how you can claim he's got no range.

Smith hasn't got a penny from me since he was linked to Scientology. There may be opinions here as to whether it is a cult or a religion, but my opinion says cult, so no money from me. Same reason I stopped watching Simpsons and My Name Is Earl. Well... those stopped being funny too

Why? Seems like perfectly logical reasoning to me?

Sorry, I'm guessing this isn't sarcastic. To me it's saying I don't care what someone does with the money as long as there is an intermediary. I just may be reading too much into a simple statement.

From what I can read "The Last Pharoh" seems interesting.

Hard to believe there arent more Egypt movies out there given their lack of what we see as morales and their extravagent culture.

The guy markets himself really well. He appears larger then life on the screen and all his movies make money. THat being said, he usually has the same mannerisms in almost every movie, he's not going to be doing an indie passion films anytime soon and big name directors are hardly lining up to work with the guy. He's more of a celebrity then is an actor.

All that, his movies never seem to be complete flops and he comes across as a nice guy.

7 Pounds was the final nail in the coffin for me for Will Smith movies. If his movies were a restaurant, they would be McDonalds.

Yeah I'm sure no director out there wants to work with an Oscar nominated actor who's had every movie he's ever starred in debut at #1.

He's just a box office killer

So you work for company A. You decide to support your catholic church. Lets say I'm Jewish.

If I buy goods from company A I'm supporting Catholicism?

Twisting by the pool...twisting by the pool...not quite hombre. Its really MUCH simpler.

If we didnt support his movies Company A wouldnt pay him, therefore he wouldnt be supporting church A, B or C because he had no money, or less of it, and may be unwilling to throw good money after bad.
Really..thats it.

Wow. Have the heads of the Scientology branches molested children or something?

Scientology is a belief the same as being a christian, muslim ..whatever.

Personally I'll watch his movies because I enjoy watching them, if he wants to be a dumbarse in his beliefs go ahead, same as I like to watch Iginla play hockey even know I think he's a dumbarse for believing in the the bible.
