Went into the boards last night and did the same thing to my shoulder, pretty painful.

Just wondering how long it will be before I get my range of motion back and will be able to do some lifting. Have some construction work coming up in 2 weeks.

Depends really on what actually happened ... Did you actually dislocate it ? Or did you just land wrong and there is some inflammation?

I have 3 tears in the Labrum in my shoulder from College ball.... Sometimes when I fall wrong or reach the wrong way for things mine will come out and I will have to have someone put it back in... It has gotten less painful but if it comes out its usually a week and sometimes too before my full range of motion is back and I am pain free.

Please tell me you were wearing shoulder pads.

I have little sympathy for those guys who play shinny hockey without shoulder pads and hurt themselves by running into someone else or into the boards.

Yeah, I always wear pads. Happened in the corner away from the goalie, racing for a puck and went down somehow, either my skate caught or my opponent's stick took me down.

It might have popped out but went back in place, every muscle and tendon around my shoulder hurts like hell, cannot lift up my arm at all.

^^^

sounds like perhaps you seperated it - but what do i know. go and see a dr.

when i seperated my should a lifetime ago it hurt a lot for about 36 hrs and then it felt better - i was back playing non-contact work hocked after about 10 days, but i went into the corner like i had a load of eggs under my gear. As i recall it took several months to regain my strength in that shoulder.

If it went back in without seeing a doctor then I don't think it's quite as severe. Mine was really bad. I was in a sling for 3 weeks and still couldn't really move it much after it was out. It's been 6 months now and I'm still only at about 80% range of motion and 75% strength.

Definitely sounds like it was not as bad as your injury Mayer, thankfully. Like NorthEnd I'm hoping I can at least do some work in a couple weeks. Have some renovations planned, not going to change the date.

If it's still this painfull in couple days then I'll see a doctor.
