Every time I try to decide between ...And Justice for All, Master of Puppets, or Ride the Lightning, I can't. It is impossible.

If you could put "Small Hours" on Master, you would have the ultimate CD!

...And Justice For All is my favorite.
*Side note*: I've always wondered why Blackened is a bit quieter than the other tracks. Probably a recording glitch? Anyone else notice this?
Master of Puppets is 2nd favorite.
I actually really like Death Magnetic.

Best solos on this album. Many of the songs were Mustaine's (Jump in the Fire, The Four Horsemen, Metal Militia, and Phantom Lord) but the album was recorded with Kirk Hammet playing guitar.
Jump in the Fire has, in my opinion, the most face-meltiest solo of all time.

I actually liked that album, but I was afraid the diehard metallica fans would shun me, so I'll remain silent on the issue.

Probably a good idea.
That album is an abomination.

I didn't really like this album, but if you did, then I'm not bashing you- I put it up as a joke for that very reason, the hardcores hate it.
I like the Black album because it was my first... you know how you always have a special place in your heart for your first haha.
P.S. Gettign my iPod all metallica'd up right now.

I love Kill'em All. Not my favorite album but just a kickass album by a bunch of kids. Very cool stuff.
I have a toss up between Master and Justice as their best. Justice is by far the best album to put on for a rode trip.
Thought Black was ok but over the top produced. After the Black album Metallica ceased to exist.

It's definitely not their best album. I did like the rawness of it though.

I'm a diehard Metallica fan and I like it. I wish they wouldn't have taken Bob Rock's advice on using garage band type production but it's still not as bad and some people make it out to be.

Battery slays as an opening track, and then Master of Puppets is that 'kick it up one more notch' track.

As a youngen I had the metallica box set, to bad all the vids were VHS
I always enjoy going back to listening Kill em all vocals and laughing at how more mature Hetfield's voice progressed between albums
