To each their own i guess but personally the extreme south Calgary sucks so bad the whole area should be re-named "pornstar avenue"
Traffic, cookie cutter houses and zero trees...beautiful!!

As opposed to the Dirty streets, Noisy traffic and people, crime and vandalism, ugly, old and sketchy older buildings of downtown and Beltline?
No thank you.
Or the ugly 60's houses, terrible roads, back alley, garageless grace of the older communities? Got to love having to drive to get to any sort of shopping center like West Hills, Shawnessy, Deerfoot Meadows (crossing? whatever it's called on 130th)

Soul destroying qualities? Yes I'm sure you're such a better person cause you live in an apartment down town with no back yard, windows you can't open and the requirement of staying quiet cause you're sharing walls with other people.
I'm going to do everything in my power to never live in an apartment unless I'm Donald Trump in a 4 million dollar penthouse.

I'd be kinda depressed walking out of my building and seeing the drunks at the Alpha House.
If you want luxury, you're looking at the north end of downtown near the river, near the west end (10 street-ish).

Nuera, which is right beside Sasso and Vetro should be finished by summer. Not sure what your timeline is, but I expect it to be fairly nice. We bought 1 in there, and I like that builder.
Not a fan of Keynote and haven't looked at Arriva.

I'd hate to see the world through your eyes. Downtown may not be the cookie cutter utopia that you call home, but you're seriously embellishing things. And since when can you get from Bridlewood, Evergreen or the other community you listed - to any sort of shopping - without driving?

You know, I just don't understand why people have to post garbage like this. If you like where you live, then tell the OP why he should move there. Instead, you make a lame (and ignorant) attempt at slagging a part of the city that the OP obviously has no interest in moving to....just to make yourself feel better about your own purchasing decision.
Traffic is pretty much the same all over the city. My neighborhood in the deep south has thousands of trees that are actually maintained, and 95% of the city has cookie cutter homes.

Only Forest Lawn is real shady out of those he listed. The others are starting to age though.

I live in Sunalta and I love it. For the most part it's a quite area with a lot of character. Someone in my building is actually selling their place right now.
it should be noted that you still get the downtown bs from time to time, it has its perks though. For example, my bottles last no longer than 3.2355 seconds in my alley. I'm happy to keep the homeless community employed if it means I never have to go to the bottle depot.

Lincoln Park / Lakeview area is terrific. I've owned a condo just south of Mt. Royal for years and it's been the best place I've ever lived. 5 Minutes to the DT core, 5 Minutes to Chinook Mall, 5 Minutes to Westhills. With immediate access to Crowchild and/or Glenmore, it's a dream. 1 bed, 1 bath can be had between 230,000 and 260,000 with fees around $215. Perhaps a little pricey (given other areas of the city) but worth every cent.

I would agree except for the fact of traffic on WB Glenmore is insane trying to get there anywhere between 4-6pm after 14th street.
But if you don't have to travel that then that's a good spot.

I heart Hillhurst.
Riley Park. Bow River pathways. Prince's Island. Safeway. LRT station. FATS. Fine Dining. Good take-out. Beauties. Hobos. Salsa Festival. Celebrities.
I did all my Xmas shopping just walking down the street - no trip to a busy mall.
My bike got stolen, but that could happen anywhere.

I think anyone that would live in the deep South is crazy. It is just like the North, except traffic is worse, you are way further away from everything and the infrastructure sucks.
