*Health hat*
Just a reminder, like Herpes, the virus can be transmitted between the oral and genital regions...

HPV can also cause oral or throat cancers (obviously an extreme situation)...so for any men who are infected, think about THAT before your girlfriend has some face time with "Mr. Happy"... Forget about headaches, soon it will be "Sorry, hon, you could give me cancer"

Most women are not told because there's little point. Testing for HPV is not standard. Also, HPV is not curable and only a small percentage of carriers will develope cervical cancer.

At some point people will have to realise we are not built to be promiscuous, many, many young women have been sterilized from S.T.D.s and don't know it yet. Sad.

I blame it on religion! If we didn't spend the last couple thousand years believing in fairy tales, we'd still be humping whoever we want! The good STDs would have weeded out the weak! lol

So what you're saying is that the price for promiscuity is population control?
And the problem with that is what exactly?

What a load of crap. If you're smart, and take the proper precautions, you can be as promiscuous as you want.

Believe me I'm not preaching, however monogamy was and still is in many parts of the world a survival skill.
Sure a male could spread his seed but would the offspring survive without a provider and a protector?
I think about my grandmother being widowed during WWII with 4 young children, no social net back then and a widow with 4 young children just didn't get remarried in those days... Must have been a hard life. RIP
The age group this article is talking about grew up with the knowledge about STDs but still risk their health and others health rather than abstaining somewhat.

What? No, that's not true. Condoms are only somewhat effective at stopping the transmission of STDs.
Does your partner wear a dental dam when they give oral?

If 44% of the entire age group is infected, imagine what percentage of the night club crowd on any given Saturday night would be infected...
If you eliminated the people that arn't sexually active and the monogamous couples and the very careful, that 44% number is HUGE.
I can't imagine being so careful that I couldn't catch something, sex if done properly, gets dirty...
