Oh man I miss all these guys! Ed Whalen, JR Foley, Dynamite Kid. Stampede wrestling is the best wrestling of all time. not the crap you get from the WWF.
Well Bret Hart had been working out at the gym that I go to in the last 6 months or so, so I guess he has been trying to get back into shape. Albeit he has been doing more light weight type training, with a personal trainer. So maybe that was the start of wanting to go back into the ring.
I am tired of hearing bout the screwjob though, its wrestling and Vince Mcmahon has every right to dictate how all matches go, especially with Bret going to the WCW at the time. The WWE merely was protecting its own interests, imo. Note, I am a Bret Hart fan.

He has the right, but not when there's a creative control clause in the contract that Bret wanted to invoke. Hart had no issue losing the title, he just didn't want to do it in Montreal, he wanted to lose the next night on Raw.

He didn't have creative control like Hulk Hogan had. Bret had "reasonable creative control". The word "reasonable" leaves it up to interpretation.
Bret wanted to forfeit the title the next night. Not lose it.

It does go a lot deeper then that for Hart. First and foremost he had done everything that was asked for for a long period of time.
The whole Shawn Michael's machinism had made things go from a rivalry to real fisticuffs backstage and a lot of hatred for the two.
The other issue though is that Bret was one of those guys that lived his character, he didn't just play the hitman, I think his life resolved around being the Hitman.
When Vince pulled the screwjob it became more to Bret then Vince protecting the industry, it was a father figure who he thought he could trust throwing him in the dumpster.
The sad thing was that WCW and Bishop had gained a sure fire story line with Bret Hart that could have probably finished off WWE if it was used right, and the paranoia of Hulk Hogan and the greed of Scott Hall killed the golden goose.
Then Owen died and the Hart fan fell apart.
As much as its hard to have sympathy for Bret Hart due to the money and the fame, his character was murdered by Vince, his legacy was destroyed by Hogan and Bishop, and WWE killed his brother.
I don't begrudge his bitterness.

Anyone who watches Raw tonight wanna give us a summary of what he says about Hart. I tried watching 5 seconds of Raw and can't bare having to stand through it to just wait for McMahon.
I just watched it. Shawn Michaels came out and asked Vince to let Bret on next week.
I haven't watched wrestling since the glory days of the late 90s but this seemed very boring to me. Maybe I just found it alot more exciting when I was a teenage boy.
I haven't watched Pro Wrestling in 8 years and the only reason I watched RAW last night was to see Vince's promo, and it didn't disappoint. Sounds as though we may see an HBK/Hitman confrontation at some point. "Only good things can happen...." Sounds like good ole nostalgic fun. Also interested to see how they play this angle out.
