Since the issue is about wealth and investing, I interpreted the cover as the white collar worker (who happens to be Asian and female) being surprised at how much money the blue collar worker (who happens to be white and male) has -- like a Wealthy Barber or Millionaire Next Door thing.

It didn't even occur to me that others would interpret it as her being after his money until I read the comments in this thread.

I think it's more stereotyping women in general than Asian women in particular.

Nah. He's looking to hire a high class Asian "escort".

It's fine We need to look past race.
We need to look at a cover like that without looking at the races of the people on it.

The only disappointing part of that cover is the high-cut top she's wearing. >Insert picture of Jennifer Lopez at Oscars<

My wife is Asian and she doesn't seem to be any worse than most of her white friends are. She failed to see the racism in the cover as well.

Not sure if this was just a random post or if you also saw the 16x9 segment on Global about the recent construction related death(s) in Calgary and construction workers smoking dope on their breaks in DT Calgary.

Very OT, but I know several guys in the construction industry and going to work high/drunk is more like the norm than the exception but I don't exactly have a huge sample size (maybe 10 examples of guys ranging from 18 to 50 years old).

I think the dopey white guy as a construction worker is a more egregious stereotype than a (insert culture here) woman wanting money is. Your buddy needs to stop looking for racism where it doesn't exist.

Wow what a reach.. People need to lighten up we are becoming a nation of whiners.

If it's an asian woman, it's racist, if it's two white people it's racist because it's suggesting only white people have jobs and make money, if it's a black construction worker it's racist because it suggests they can't be white collar, if it's a white dopey construction worker it suggests that tradesman are dopey, etc etc....

You can turn any situation into something that could be "offensive".

I see that cover and think, that the "white collar" person is surprised at the money being made by the construction worker, aand that construction workers are dopey. kidding of course.
