I would guess that's a lie based on the above. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder - my problem is that it's been exactly the same stuff for 5 years.

Seems to be case with Mike's show some folks hate it others really like the show.
As for the content being the same for 5 years, well that's not true. His show is constaintly getting new guests.
For example Pierre McGuire........Pierre is always interesitng.

Of course guests change, but the schtick doesn't. I used to like the show a lot. Maybe the problem is that I actually hear the whole show every day since I'm in the car at 6 and have the radio on all day at work. After 5 years of that, some of the stuff really grates - I'm sure if I was listening less, I wouldn't be as tired of him.

I think that with Calgary being such a small market we are quite lucky to have Richards.
You try and fill in a 4 hour show on sports 5 times a week when you only have one major sport team.

I think other than the 1-3 years on air experience, any of us could do it eh? Doesn't sound too difficult.

Just because there is one major sport team in the city doesn't mean you have to only talk about that one sport. There are plenty of people that want to hear about those other sports that don't involve Calgary, as well as the other leagues that do involve Calgary such as the CFL, NLL, WHL, GBL. This is why I gave up on the Fan. Way too much hockey talk.

Worse than the songs etc. on the morning show is the commercials. I turn it immediately if that hot tubs are fun/billiards are fun commerical comes on. Guess they are going after the same high school educated crowd as you don't hear it on any other station. The only way you could make that commercial any more annoying would be to throw in a fart noise at the end. Just pathetic...Way too many commercials to make it worth listening to unless there is a game on...For the most part the morning show is filled with Immature adults that most kids don't even find funny...Pierre McGuire is actually very interesting when he is on the show and if you time it just right he is worth listening to until the next commercial cycle kicks in within 15 minutes...

I'm the opposite - I can't listen to Sports Talk on QR 77, because they talk about CFL football in January, amateur sports, curling etc. I pretty much just want Flames/NHL talk, and the Fan surely knows most of their audience wants the same thing.
I turn off the Fan when the discussion turns to rodeo or motor sports.

I am surprised the sound waves of the FAN960 can reach your ears around your pompus head... If you don't like it... Don't listen... Pretty simple And you can still catch Frasier on some channels to quench that highbrow humour you crave so much
... I do hate those hottubs/billiards commercials though
