So what? Its not lke 1954 mayberry when Andy waits for calls to come in and deal with drunk uncle Charley driving in the ditch.

With well over 200 accidents on the road plus your usual day to day affairs that are tended too, how many cops would be sitting 3 minutes away, station or no station??

Also, in cases like this, I believe it's protocol to wait for backup before entering the home. (can someone clarify?). So the first car could have been on scene in 5 minutes and the next ones even later.
Yeah I would say they definitely wait for backup before entering a home, especially if the first officer on the scene was all by himself.

I did a ride-along years ago, and a check for welfare like this was taken pretty seriously. A number of cars responded, and they were breaking the door down ASAP as soon as they could when nobody answered the door.

In a Feminist Misandrist society, men are abused and tormented by their wives, but the law does not recognize that men can be victims. Those men have to bear the nagging, verbal and physical abuse for years and years until one day they snap. It is sad he did not get to kill his abusive wife. She gets off scott free. A girl can kill her husband by shooting him in the back and calling it self defense. Misandry is at epidemic levels.

Haha, what do you think they were doing? Waiting in the line at Tim's? Wow.

Really sad story. I can't understand someone that could kill their own kids. Why would this ever be the answer? Don't like your family? Just leave, run away. Go start a new life if you can't handle the pressure.

I didn't say they did a bad job or even were slow to show up, I go to Cardell Place 3 times a week, the police station is across the street and there is always a huge amount of police presence in cars there regardless of the weather. I just said I didn't think 16 minutes was all that fast for that area.I did not say they were slow or should have been there faster.

But I do agree they did a good job getting there/breaking down the door and saving the wifes life.

There's lots of cars there, but I doubt there are enough cops in the building, armed and armored and ready to go to fill them all.

As others have pointed out, the police out on patrol are the ones dispatched, and I would imagine the police density for a suburban community like Panorama is fairly light - probably only a couple of cars covering Panorama, Hanson Ranch, maybe even Evanston and Kincora. (although - there has been lots of activity in Panorama of late, including drive by shootings, a couple of home invasions, etc)

This is a really sad story and I can't imagine the ordeal the mother is going through. Losing her children and family like that is just too much. Hopefully she gets the help she needs. May be suicidal and having a million thoughts running through her head.

I have no idea who moderates the comments there, but they're complete morons.

Well, after a comment like that, I think it's safe to say no-one moderates, although I did notice it was taken off yesterday. Still, should not have even got onto the site period. Pretty far out there comment. Makes you wonder who wrote it, and what they're capable of doing.

At least I haven't seen the media use the term "devoted father" like they did when that clown in Dalhousie did a similar thing a few years back. A devoted father doesn't hurt his family.
