I would be just as intrigued if it didn't involved aliens. An experimental aircraft that can pull g forces that exceed anything we know of? I think that's world news.
I would be intrigued if it was natural phenomena as well.

I guess a logical explanation would be that it was a military test plane, since I am close enough to the desert from here? I dunno... it could have been anything. I just want to know what it was!

It wasn't red. It was bluish white.

Then again, If some other beings have the ability to go the distant to Earth I guess they have the ability to hide as well.

There's an interesting school of thought that subcribes to the idea that the reason why people see these sightings so often is to prepare us for the eventually global encounter.
So the more we see these things, when the eventual contact happens, we would have grown to accept it easily.
Just something I read in a maclean's magazine once while sitting bored waiting for my haircut.

Little blueish white dots flying S's in the sky ain't gonna prepare me for no alien invasion. Who comes up with that stuff? I'll be the first to the shotgun shop.

I'm shocked you hadn't heard about it, I found an old link (posted below) but afterwards the Air Force finally admitted they had f-16's in the area that day (but weren't chasing anything) and Larry King had a couple of shows on it. The Air Force tried in vain to stop the public from seeing radar evidence (shown on CNN with Larry King) but that's the last words on it. The official word later from the government is the 100's of witnesses were seeing things and are better off forgetting it.

Comeon man, what do you expect? after flying in no gravity for a 1000 light years theres bound to be some problems getting use to upper level winds and possibly the training of one million year generation pilots!

I have no idea what is what when it comes to this stuff...but i remember this event and the discussion that followed.
the biggest difference in this one is that it was seen by hundreds, reported by many and photographed by several.

It could have been a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. I don't think they are cleared for urban use yet but they are goingot become very popular in the next few years. Not being cleared doesn't mean someone wasn't testing one. A UAV is much smaller than an aircraft so it would make altitude and speed estimates hard. There are several designs out there being tested that can hover, sideslip, vtol, etc. The only thing is i would expect it to have traditional navigation lights, but they can be hard to see from the ground.
I don't believe in aliens, at least not ones that travel here and spy on us. I figure if a species can have the technology to build a ship to cross the galaxy to get here they aren't going to be afraid of us.
I do believe there is a simple explanation for most of these things, and most will never be confirmed.

My first guess would be light reflecting/refracting off layers of the atmosphere, but without knowing details of what you saw that is pretty much just a random guess.

Maybe they are so far advanced of us that talking to us would be like us talking to squirrels? Haha
Neeper, not trying to be a smart arse, but a couple buddies and I saw the same sort of thing years back. Except we were tripping on mushrooms. (Not implying you were tripping out.. haha) Anyways we were laying on the grass and looking up at the Northern lights dancing and 3 of us were watching this what we thought was a satalite going across the sky when it just did a loop. All 3 of us at the same time, go "WHOA did you see that?" It was probally the mushrooms, but how did 3 of us all see that at the same time?

I saw one about 6 years ago. It was moving around in very deliberate, extremely fast motions. Every time a thread like this gets posted, I reconsider what I saw and really can't get past how fast it moved, how fast it stopped, and how fast it changed directions. I wont go so far as to say that there was an alien flying around that night, but what I saw was not of any technology that I've ever heard of.

I don't believe in Aliens/UFO's for a different reason... I think if they've got the technology to travel over these vast distances, then their technology is so far advanced that if they didn't want us seeing them, we wouldn't.

People are always going to believe what they want to believe, but I have seen things in the sky that I can't explain. My parents once had an experience driving south of High River where they heard and felt something passing over top of them. They never saw anything but whatever it was drained all the electrical power from their car and two farmhouses near the road. My dad said it made all their hair stand on end, like static electricity. Once it moved away from them, the power returned to the area and the car started working again like nothing had ever happened.
Aliens? Who knows. Like that movie "Contact" says, if we were the only ones out there, it would be an awful waste of space.
