What model did you get? I have a 40" Sony Z series, and it's a beautiful TV.

Another tidbit about the Plasma TV's is that the power consumption is generally 2-3 times that of a LCD TV, which can cost you a bit more over the course of a lifetime.

Not true anymore if it ever was. The new plasmas use a bit more than an LCD but a couple of dollars a year after spending a couple of grand for the TV wouldn't be a consideration for me.

I can't tell a diff (although I did not do a side by side) between it and the Panasonic plasma upstairs. For $800 though it's hard to beat. I understand they get top ratings by Consumer Reports too.
Interesting....I have seen that brand a number of times but shyed away as I hadn't heard of them before and am a tad leary about buying from the lesser known companies.

The top plasma maker, Pioneer has stopped making them so I hear you can get some good deals relatively speaking, on their plasma's.
This is true....however, be careful

I understand that they will also stop producing replacement parts at the same time, which will drive up the price in them as well as making repairs non cost-effective.
