You can expand that to 4 games pretty easy if youre willing to wait for the recall channel change. Each tuner remembers its own recall.
The other buttons I use alot are skip forward 30 seconds and skip back 5 seconds. These two buttons are enough of a reason why I could never trade my Bell receiver for a Shaw one. Each commercial skip takes about 3 seconds ... skip forward till the show starts, then back once or twice till the end of the last commercial. I could never ever deal with the hassle of fastforwarding and rewinding commercials like you have to with shaw.

Actually, that's exactly how my newer Shaw PVR works as well. The buttons are labelled kind of stupidly. There's SKIP, which goes forward about 30 seconds, and a funny little back arrow key right under it which goes back about 10 seconds. I'm not trying to pick a fight here, I actually did prefer my Bell TV to Shaw, but When Shaw offered me a free dual-tuner HDPVR and a better bundled price than Bell, I couldn't say no, much as I still think Bell's quality was a little better.

This might not be helpful, but I have my vloume set that way as well, and my swap button still works the same.

I was going to say that my starchoice has the same buttons, and works the same way.
On a semi-related note, I called a Starchoice tech on an issue I was having, and had asked him about the way the search and record functions didn't work as well as the Bell ones, and he told me that before the end of the year there will be a software update for the pvr's (I'm assuming he meant shaw's as well) that will make them have the same functionality as bell pvr's as far as searches and things go. (ie searching by prog name, ability to record only new shows, the PVR having the ability to record seasons of shows by searching for the show itself, not relying on the time, in case of a change, or a two hour premiere or something) So sounds like the different pvr's will be getting very close to working pretty much the same soon, which is good news for Starchoice customers.

Wow, that is awesome.
My brother has Shaw right now, with a PVR that is about 3 years old. I know for a fact his doesnt work that way. Last year, I was at his house playing with it.
Is it possible that a firmware update could have taken place on his PVR and he now has this functionality? Or, does he need to get a whole new PVR?

Speaking of recordings, has anyone heard any updates on the setting your PVR from the Bell website and text message? That would be amazing!

Not sure if you got it sorted out Cheerio- but just in case:
1)- Do you have more than one receiver? Same issue on each? Then goto "2"
1a) press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. It will do a self-reboot. Let it run through on its own.
1b) Power off the receiver with the remote, then unplug it for at least 10 minutes. (Tell Bell it was unplugged for just over 2 hours if they ask)
2) Do you run through a switch? Can you tell if that is plugged in? What about re-booting it?
2a) Can you direct connect one of the inputs to the switch to the line going to the receiver? If so, try that, and do a "check switch" on the receiver (Menu 6-1-1.) If that "fixes" it- you need a new switch.

I wonder if the dish moved or if the switch died. Let us know what the problem is if the tech can even figure it out.

The only thing to add was that during the snowfall I was watching A&E and was getting pixilation. I switched over to HD and lost signal all together; which almost never happens.
My 82 dish is only 5 feet off the ground so I went over to it, and there was a solid inch of snow on the LNB. I was able to wipe mine off, but I wonder if you got snow/ water into the LNB.

Okay, so it turns out it turns when the power died it burnt out a switch in our attic, which caused no power to reach the satellite which caused it to receive no signals.

That's what I figured. Do you not have it plugged into a power surge bar?
I would honestly recommend that even though it is in your attic it could save you from this happen again.
