I've found out that if I don't put these sensors on my winter tires, the sensor light comes on and says on on my dashboard. There is no way to disconnect it. I can put the sensors on my winter tires but every time I change tires they must be reprogrammed, at a cost of about $100 each time (one hour of shop time required). A Toyota dealer tells me that they don't believe that anyone but Toyota can program these sensors. On top of that, my wife says she wants the sensor because she doesn't want to be checking tire pressure and doesn't want the light on all the time. All this nonsense when I could just check the tire pressure myself as needed. My Rav is going in today and I'm not pleased with this crap so may give them a piece of my mind. I've spent a lot of money on Toyotas over the years but I may just have bought my last one. I'm so pissed.

Yeah... It's the same with Honda too.
TPMS is overrated. The sensor only comes on if your tires are really, really deflated - like 10psi under.
Honda's implementation sucks, BTW.
