[quote=NSFL;2090456]Your reply boggles my mind. It... Just doesn't make sense. Not... like... stuffing? Explain.
I'm not really sure how to explain it. I just hate it. I hate the smell of it, i hate the taste of it. I always will try any food more than once to make sure i hate it and i have tried A LOT of stuffing's in my time....stove top and also made from scratch. I just hate it. I dunno...

Seriously... My grandma makes the WORST stuffing of ALL TIME. ALL TIME!
I used to think I hated stuffing, but after 22 years on this earth I realized I love stuffing and my grandmas just is terrible.

I used to think the same thing, that my step mom or my mom or my grandmother or my best friend or friends moms or my ex's mom or my aunts made the worst stuffing ever. However, since i have tried all of these stuffings more than once each in my almost 34 years of existence, i have determined that all stuffing is nasty. I should also add that all of these people make excellent turkey dinners among other things. So, it's not that they're bad cooks by any stretch. All stuffing is just nasty....to me.

Gah...don't even get me started...i don't even allow my staff to eat watermelon in the office or chew watermelon gum. It makes me ill. Same with when my roomate makes bacon for breakfast. She knows to douse the apartment in febreze 89 times over once she's done.
I think the hatred for watermelon and bacon came from being fed that everyday of my childhood at my dads place. I also hated eggs for a while. But, eggs are back in my good books after refusing to eat them for at least 10 years.

^^^I'm with the evil one, I hate stuffing. Except I call it "turkey edema".
Why don't people stuff their turkeys with nacho chips? That I would eat.
"Hey, jammies, have some turkey-flavoured cheezy nacho chips!"
"Yes, thank you, I will partake of this dish. Mmm mmm. Tasty. Even if it came out of a turkey's ass."

Awww, I didn't have much of a thanksgiving either. I just ended up with a plate of thanksgiving food from my best friend. And my memory ain't like it used to be...

You're getting up there in age, tsk tsk (and to think I'm older than you )
The only bonus is I got loooots of homework done. My life is thrilling. =P
I've never had bad stuffing. It adds flavour. and I hate how messy watermelon can be, but IMO it's worth it.

Yes but to be fair, you're a pants-less, free-wheeling hippie....it's not nearly as shocking that you don't enjoy one of the best things about a turkey dinner.
Having tried many different forms of stuffing, I still love my mom's the best - it's very simple, I rip up a few loaves of bread, we sautee onions & celery in (real) butter that is then poured over/mixed into the bread and is then flavoured with salt, pepper & poultry season to taste before it's crammed into a waiting turkey's orifices. I just got hungry typing that.....

My wife has introduced a new stuffing to our holiday meals..... using sourdough bread, bacon, spinach and cashews amung the brown bread, celery and various spices/onions that are normally found in it. Soooo Goood!

it soaks up the grease off the turkey so the bird isn't greasy but you end up getting all that greasy goodness anyways!

Hey! I love watermelon! God loves us crackers, too!
Don't listen to EC. While she's definitely right that stuffing is the bane of thanksgiving, bacon and watermelon are awesome.

I once carried a 15 lb watermelon on an 8 hour hike to a campsite! hehe Best thing i ever ate once we got there!
But i don't understand the love for bacon. i don't hate it but would never order or cook it. I might eat it if it was free at a stampede breakfast. So salty and chewy.

Whats the purpose of stuffing?
You see junior, when a man really likes or loves or gets a woman totally drunk, he follows the age old tradition of stuffing the crap out of her.
Its good for him, its good for his reputation, and he usually gets a free breakfest out of it if he stuffs well.
Its win win.
