That episode was great but the best moment ever was a few weeks ago when Michael was getting advice from Oscar about his pending colonoscopy! By far the funniest thing on the show in it's history!

I just got caught up and I am currently addicted to this show. One thing I would like to see is bring Holly back. For some reason I liked her

I loved the Holly character and her chemistry with Steve Carell was undeniable. Unfortunately Amy Ryan is an oscar nominated actress and an amazing one at that (Gone baby gone) so pretty tough to get now a days. Not to mention she just gave birth this week so don't expect her back anytime soon.
I thought the episode after the wedding one was one of the worst I've seen in a long time but last weeks episode really made up for it. Ryans top hat and Michael talking about how he has many female friends although his Aunte blocked him on IM were hilarious. Really love the direction of this season so far.

I think the Parkour bit at the start of the season premier was the moment of the season so far. All the shows have been great though. Even the wedding wasn't tooo cheesy.

I would generally agree, but the scene where Andy "the mechanic" goes out to help the lady jump her car was great.

I don't know, I have hardly ever laughed at the office. I don't find it funny at all. In fact, that show makes me miserable and depressed and only brings back the worst memories of drudgery and politics and despair of working in a small office in the middle of nowhere with people you have nothing in common with.
For me, the office is the most miserable show on television, that includes the British version except when David Brent is singing "Freelove Freeway" and revealing his inner artist. I loved that so much, I learned to sing and play the song.

the office is my favorite show on television and pretty much the only thing on network TV i still watch. i disliked the show at first but ended up getting hooked because of the other shows that were on before/after it. i personally love the character development they have had over the years.
i think one downside is the number of relationships in the office. that is one reason i am glad the holly character was just temporary. (though i love amy ryan and wish she would have stayed on) but there are just so many different couples in a small office.
also, i think they need to lose a significant character. i love everyone on the cast, but there has really been no change in the office. there has been turnover at corporate with the jan and ryan stuff, and even change in the warehouse with roy, but the biggest office loss was devon early in season 2 and he wasn't a sifnificant character at all. everyone else that has left has been someone that was added for a short time. to me, it makes it seem less real as every office experiences turnover, and it also makes things stale as there is just less change to keep the show fresh.

I think this season the Office really did want to keep it simple and get back to what made it good. Storylines that are based in and around the office, letting the characters be the vocal point. Season 6 to me has been a big improvement over Season 5.

The problem with this is that the show is in its 6th season. Itll probably go for 2 maybe 3 more seasons so there's no real point in losing a significant character at this point. Although i must admit, when I thought Stanley was leaving i was interested to see who they replaced him with. I also think the Addition of Ed Helms was one of the best moves they could have made.
I agree with the relationships part, although you just couldnt do the show without the Jim/Pam scenarios and I think people though it dragged on too long without them getting together. The chemistry between the two characters is pretty incredible though. Its pretty easy to believe that they are actually in love.

I can see how someone wouldn't like it. The humour is very dry and that's not everyones thing. I honestly think (and correct me if this has been clarified or not, as I just recently got into the show) that most of the show is improvised, especially early on. You just cant write the amount of awkwardness that comes from a character like Michael. I think the actors are told to take a scene as far as they can until it becomes just too awkward to handle.

No, the show is heavily scripted, the scripts even go to the UK for Ricky Gervais to read and consult on first before they go back to the American production.
Have you seen the UK Office? It's a very different flavor. Michael isn't as nearly awkward as David Brent. It's very tame by comparison. Michael is pretty bland and more the typical faulted but you can still love him American lead.
If you want awkward until you cringe, watch the UK version. For me, when I watch the US office, it just doesn't feel funny. The mocumentary part makes it feel even more fake and even more scripted to me. Lately, it seems like the writers are running out of ideas and are just inserting more cult pop-culture references into the show. The characters are also written too over the top. Dwight and Michael just reek of being overwritten to be funny and it's just not believable to me whereas Gareth and David Brent were much more believable characters, that they really were who they are.
It sounds like I am praising the UK version and I'm one of those snobs but I'm not. That show is just as depressing, set in miserable Slough, but maybe because it's foreign, it has a little more flavor to it and it only had 14 total episodes and ended just right where it needed to be instead of dragging on like the U.S. one. My god, the US office has almost 140 episodes now. That's ridiculous and why the characters and perpetual depressing mediocrity is so old.

Ricky is one of the most hilarious guys and has had a lifetime of mediocrity before becoming famous and I find that really funny. His stand-up comedy is great although I also don't like his Office and Extras work that much. His main schtick in those is to generate those awkward moments and I hate that sort of thing.
I also respect him as a muscian funny enough because he plays the guitar and sings very well. He was also hilariously in an 80s new romantics band as a 21-year old and that just astounds me.
Mind-blowing note: Ricky Gervais is half Canadian...like Eric Clapton.

For a show you can't stand, why exatclly are you keeping up to date with it all the way into its 6th season?
Without getting into a huge Uk Vs US Office debate, i don't think you can really compare the two. David Brent was written to just be a complete narcissist and a pretty flat character. Mind you he was hilarious doing it and thats all the show was going for. Michael Scott has actually been given depth as a character and we've seen different sides to him then just his horrible awkwardness.
The show is hardly the dark depressing, emo like label you give it. It's found a way to combine those awkward moments with a lot of heart warming ones. The Wedding episode this year is a perfect idea.

Don't get me started on David Brent. I cringe watching Michael in some of the old ones, but David Brent brought to a whole new level of awkwardness. I couldn't even finish some episodes because of it. It was funny, but I hate watching that cringe worthy stuff.
