Man, the special effects like killer in this movie. Unfortunately, the diecting looks like utter sh@t. A big crack forming between Adam and God in the Sistine Chapel... America's own giant weapons (an aircraft carrier, no less) single handedly crushing the White House... Why doesn't he just write down his own moral values in a big book then smack us all over the head with it? That way we're spared the 15 bucks to go see another crappy disaster movie that has no clue to the idea of subtlety. But I guess when you have giant pieces of the Earth sinking into the sea, it's hard to understand quite what subtelty means in the first place...

There is a difference in this thread. Nothing has gotten over the top like in some of the other threads I have read.
This is a serious topic, there is no denying that. But there are a couple of things to consider. 1. This is the internet, so if you are looking for serious conversation it is best to look elsewhere. 2. Sometimes people cope with tragedy with humour, although I don't think that applies here.
Nothing has been made light about the tragedy itself or the loss of life. When I posted El Nino, it was in response to something someone else said. It had nothing to do with the people who are suffering.
The tragedy is not a joke, but we deal with the thought of our own mortality in different ways. I think that is why people joke here.
You have to put everything in perspective though. This is the internet. This is a site about a game. Those two things together, to me anyways, spells anything but a serious conversation.
