Case closed.
So judging by your first comment why do you have Manning ahead of Roethlisberger? Ben has already won 2 Superbowl's and is in his mid 20's! Pretty weak argument.

Whichever player people put at #1 (Manning or Brady), doesn't mean the other one sucks or anything. OMG xxxxx is #2..........that's an outcry! LOLZZZZZZZ!

Both these guys are great quarterbacks.

You also forgot to mention that Peyton Manning is:

1. The only quarterback to lead his team to 6 straight 12 win seasons (NFL record and an active streak heading into this season).

2. Is the current and a 3 time NFL MVP (NFL record shared with Brett Favre). Brady has won 1 MVP award.

3. Is already 4th ALL TIME in passing TD's (will be #1 before his career finishes).

4. Is already 7th ALL TIME in passing yards (will be #1 before his career finishes).

5. Is already 5th ALL TIME in passing completions (will be top 2 before his career finishes).

6. A 10 time Pro Bowler in 12 full seasons (Brady has been a 4 time pro bowler in his 7 full seasons).

Tom Brady doesn't rank in the top 20 in any of those categories (of course he hasn't played in as many games so let's project where he would be):

Brady has played 113 Games to Manning's 176 so:

Passing Yards

Manning at 176 games is at 45628 passing yards.

Brady (currently at 26446 passing yards in 113 games) at 176 games would be projected to be at 41190.

Touchdowns:

Manning at 176 games is at 333 TD's.

Brady (currently at 197 TD's in 113 games) at 176 games would be projected to be at 307 TD's.

Completions:

Manning at 176 games has 3839 completions.

Brady (currently at 2301 completions in 113 games) at 176 games would be projected to be at 3584 completions.

Manning is on pace to be #1 in Touchdowns, Yards and Completions all time. Pretty hard to ignore that.

I wanted to bold the most important part:

With these numbers i'm not suggesting Brady sucks or Brady is a chump. The guy has 3 Superbowls as you mentioned and is a fantastic quarterback. But for you to say that people are nuts if they pick Manning over Brady is a ridiculous statement(as it would be if people said the opposite). The guys are close. Either could be #1 or #2.

That's a good indicator, but it only shows how well a QB passes the ball. They have to do lots of other things too - run, hand-off, manage the clock, read defences, run an offence, lead etc.

Well ill be damned! what a counter argument i love these talks. Its very hard to compare the two based soley on offensive numbers because as stated before the offensive weapons that Manning has always had. I think we can agree that Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne were much much better than anything the Pats had at WR ie Deion Branch, David Givens and the latter years of Troy Brown.

Offensively you would have to expect Manning to have far superior numbers based soley on personell surrounding him.

However, I do agree that the Pats three championships were won primarilly on Defense something that was far superior to the colts in that day and age. Surely without the strong D NE probably wouldnt be sitting with three rings.

I think my post was taken as a pure diss on Manning which couldnt be more wrong because ive never seen a QB with the ability to sling one deep mid or short in the perfect place for his reciever. My point was simply he has had better weapons on the OFFENSIVE side i think everyone can agree with that.
We also saw what TB12 is capable of with a superstar rcv (Moss) in the one year and 8 plays hes been able to play with him. Should be an interesting season to see if they can come back to that form

Thanks for this topic tho oilfan im so dam excited for this season to start enough of the pre season!!!

one last thing

Go pats!

I would take anyone of these QB's over Romo!! IMO he is the single most overrated PLAYER in the NFL!! If he wasn't playing for "America's Team" and didn't get the TV exposure we wouldn't hear much about T.Homo.
