I would love to go watch it, and likely will if it comes, but there will definitely be a huge number of ######s coming in from the Fraser Valley.

But is this really any different than a typical Lions game or "hardcore/hip hop" concert that apparently attracts a lot of the same people?

I can't see how our Fraser Valley folks can be any worse than some of the suburbs of the american cities the UFC has been to ie. Houston, Newark, Philly, Butt**** nowhere Iowa etc. There are idiots everywhere.

I can't wait for it to come to Vancouver, and with Dana White's plans to put on three cards a month, I can't see it being very long before there's a show in Calgary too.

That's the one. Still kickign myself for not going. errr not that I have a mullet or anything

Back on topic, a UFC fight in Vancouver would be ridiculous. The fighters would be blinded from the reflection off the jewels stuck to the Ed Hardy t-shirts.

There would be so much true religion in there....

Safety concerns? I agree no more than a big Lions game. Those events attract just as many Abbotsford rowdy types.

What I think will end up happening is people who want tickets to the Vancouver UFC will need to register for a UFC Fight Club membership in order to buy tickets before they go on sale to the public. I'm pretty sure the Montreal shows were pretty much sold out to fight club members before tickets went on sale to the public. The tickets they held back for the public sold out in a minute or so.

The cost for a fight club membership is $75 a year. When you add that to the expected high ticket prices, I think that will price out a lot of the typical F.V. BC Lion crowd that some people are worried will cause problems.

I am for the UFC coming to Canada. It would be awesome to showcase some of the great Canadian talent. Bring back J-Mac. Bring back Louiseau (sp?).

There are two sides of suck to this equation. On the one hand you have the UFC which sucks, along with their hardcore tough acting fans. On the other hand you have people from Vancouver.

I am not a huge UFC fan, but it embarrasses me that our country acts like this.........if you don't like UFC don't participate. Stay at home.

IIRC, Banff prohibits UFC fights in the pubs because of d-bag problems.

Yes, only if you add Boxing, Kick Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu and Collegiate Wrestling to that cockfighting list of yours.

Holy Crap, that article mentions a George St-Pierre vs. Anderson Silva fight... anyone know if this is rumored to happen at some point? That'd be epic!

Not gonna happen anytime soon. GSP is just too small. Silva looking to step up to the heavy weight division.

Shouldn't this have been originally posted in the CP MMA thread?
