Not to mention that I highly doubt that he just said it as a one off and went to europe on a whim.
I know when I went to europe it's all i talked/thought about for 6 months. Sure, my wife forgets if I tell her I"m stopping off at the mall after work, but I would have to assume that she probably heard all-europe all the time talk up until the day he left.
It's funny, but has to be fake.

Checking work emails is one thing but avoiding your girlfriend/spouse? I don't know too many girls who would be cool with a guy 'not wasting time with that carp'
To each his own, I suppose.

I think everyone here is missing the obvious reason its fake. Theres no way that the girl is stupid enough to not remember her Bf is going to Europe. Unless he never told her, it is not a minor detail that can just be so easily forgotten. Unless she is the stupidest person in the world, she would have remembered.

I also like how she goes out and bangs some dude right away. If this story is true, which I doubt, going to Europe was the best thing ever for this guy.

Worked out well for that other dude as well. So in the end, every male character is a winner. I like it.

well it doesnt say how long he was with this chick, i was just assuming due to her level of intelligence that it was a relatively short period of time, a couple months tops. If you're married or have been together a long time its different.

Unless it's a work trip, who the hell brings their cellphone on an international trip with them?(unless its the States) Especially if its just a young, single college-aged guy. Why would he need his cell when he's there?

Actually I think it would be the opposite. When the relationship is new and exciting and you're f---ing like rabbits, you would be thinking of each other. Now when you have been married awhile (as I have), it's a different story.
But you would still check in.

That is my thinking as well. It just isn't over-the-top enough to be fake. I laughed hard. My favorite was "I'd say I was cheated on, but technically I'm single at this point".

Has to be fake. She does not seem like the kind of girl that would not follow-up his news that he was going to Europe without a thousand questions and accusations.

Ok when I responded the first time I actually hadn't watched it yet. I totally get why he didn't have his cellphone, but I agreed that he should've at least checked his email. Then I watched it. He was only gone 2 weeks?? I thought it was like 2-3 months or something! I think there's a very good chance that I wouldn't have checked my email either. Keep in mind the guy's not in his 30's or older with a wife(in which case I'd see why you'd write), but in his early 20's with what seems like a casual to semi-serious girlfriend. I don't blame him at all for not checking his email. IF this is true, that chick is whacked.

It sounds like a girl that wouldn't be listening to a word he's saying because she has something more interesting she wants to talk about and is just waiting for the moment of silence to start talking.

Even the pictures looked like they were of different people.

That's what I was thinking! I could see a girlfriend ask all sorts of questions like, - who are you going with, what are you going to do, where will you stay? Things to alleviate any worry that he was going to cheat on her.
It may just be me, but at the least, wouldn't any normal person at least give one quick call when they landed to say they arrived safely? Or on the other end to say they were on their way home, time, flight # etc to expect them?
I understand a young guy not checking his email or taking a phone, and can even understand laughing it off at the end at how it all went down. Either it's fake, or both of them didn't care enough to really inform each other of their lives (I'd probably also tell my partner that I wasn't going to check my email / phone, so not to freak out if they couldn't get a hold of me).
