Yeah, the record was just for the sale of a house.
27 Pump Hill Close was assessed at $22.9M in 2009. It's 15,747 square feet.
The assessment value of this home was $10.46M this year.

I acutally thought the 3rd pic in was a really nice room. I'm all for what you say about it being stuff, totally agree but love rooms like that. Kitchen is nice looking but think the basement is a bit of a let down. If I had a place worth that kinda money, I'd be going to town on the basement.

He made his 24 million at a time a large 4 bedroom house only cost 150K.

Vernon must have got crazy rich with Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria. Likely the same reason why Len Barrie can afford to buy a stake in the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Wow.... I didn't know that was Mike Vernon's house till now. I always jogged past that house along the Bow River, very pimping crib.

Vernon owned a 3 story 12 unit apartment building in Forest Lawn back in the early 90's that he sold to my friends family for a few Million also, not sure the exact amount... but appearently hes quite savvy in the real estate market in Calgary.

So basically, they're going to turn a big fortune into a much smaller fortune by buying a 2nd rate NHL franchise in a dubious hockey market. Not the wisest move methinks.

I don't, but I've dealt with those realtors, they're pretty stubborn on their fees. It's not easy to sell a house like this and they are pretty good. Actually I did the calculations with the full fee for both buyers and sellers so, it was likely in the neighborhood of 150K for each of the buyer/seller realtors. Still not a bad chunk of change.

I just hope he left the jerseys and such, and the new buyer doesn't care for them, and has a garage sale. $20 each...

How does Vernon even walk up those stairs with all his goalie equipment on? I know he was from the 80's and his gear was smaller then they are now, but shouldn't he have an elevator? I've tried walking upstairs with goalie pads on and its quite difficult. Not to mention the blocker and catcher does not make holding the railings any easier

Isn't the Bear Mountain Resort in some trouble with Barrie trying to sell it off with Tampa Bay Lightening also in some trouble as he may be overextended.

Usually houses in that price range work on set rate commissions and not your usual formulas, but either way, yeah I'm sure they cashed in.
