I definitely want to get some sort of online franchise going if we can get enough PS3 gamers for that.
I'd be in for that.

I played an online game against Random Schmo #44543...

He gambled on every 4th down, dove around in the middle digging for interceptions and kept running the clock down to the last second before hiking the ball on offence. On every pass I threw, I either got 10-20 yards, or had it picked off. He ran 4 back for TDs, while the 5th one was actually the 1st one - on the opening drive of the game while I was figuring out my D.

I ended up losing 35-7.

It was kinda like trying to play NHL against a guy who just runs around swinging his stick everywhere to get the puck, and then cuts across the front of the net to get the goalie caught on the post while he backhands it top shelf and wins 14-2.

Fun stuff...

Yeah, Madden is about the worst game for online competition because ALMOST EVERYONE cheeses (4th down gambling, running around like an idiot for int's.) It gets annoying after 3 games and you soon forget about online play. I am going to start a thread for anyone who wants to do an online franchise for the xbox 360.

rube you will appreciate this.

I just had great game with the Eagles, Jackson with 2 TD's, one of which was 102 kick return TD. Got a TD each from Ingram, Macklin and McCoy. Plus Westbrook threw for a TD!

Not really, just online co-op where you can have two people on the same team.

I'm so far around 17-11 online so far. You just gotta know how to handle player tendencies and to defend against them. A lot of players rely on certain plays working and when you stop them it's like a walk in the park.

I've lost two games I should've won though if it weren't for bad luck in a crucial points in the game. And got disconnected in two.

I bought 09 and never really caught interest in the game. Sounds like 10 is a huge improvement and the online franchise has peaked some interest in me, I guess my questions is this a worth while purchase compared to previous maddens?

Ok, someone else said they want Colts, so I'll go ahead and make the thread.

I think it'd be better to have users from CP rather than randoms, because then at least we can stay away from the cheese.

Feels like a revived game compare to previous maddens. I'm actually really enjoying Madden for the first time in a while.

I've actually been able to get some decent runs in now. Only to the outside though. If I try to run up the middle the hole closes uber fast.

I need to get used to playing in HD....I used to play on the computer for years and years, it's a huge adjustment.

You have to focus THAT much more.

Otto, put it this way, by this time last year, Madden was already on the scrap pile, never to be played again. This year, I have barely seen my wife and have seen my kids only slightly more as I have been hiding out downstairs. My PS3 has barely turned off.

I may be down for a PS3 online league, but need to know a couple things:

I hate online, especially in Madden, everyone likes to think they play sim-style, but then pull out the cheese when they are losing. I am only onterested if people play like they see on Sundays.

My online connections have been crap lately so I'll have to correct that.

Put me down as a tenative yes.

I think the game is an improvement over last year, but good god playing online with the cheesers is terrible. Going on 4th down every series, wildcat formation literally every play of the game, players seemingly not tiring (I had one guy go to Willie Parker every play of the game and the guy didn't fumble once or tire even though I was rocking him with the hit stick).

The Wildcat formation really pisses me off. I know football. Played it throughout high school and in the CIS. Sometimes people can't stop a play because they don't know the proper defence to select to limit the play's effectiveness. That's not the case with me. These jerkoffs running a Wildcat formation every play (with nothing I can do to stop it) are really ruining the online experience for me.

I really don't like the fight for the fumble option, and am thinking of turning it off.

Yeah me neither although when you clearly get it first it is easier. I won one online for a fumble. And the refs conversing almost eveytime a TD happens is annoying.

I like the soundtrack though

Is running as impossible as in '09? This may be the first year since I bought my PS2 along with Madden '04 that I don't buy the new version. I did not like last year's.
