Oh, my opinion of the ferry would do a complete 180.

Or at least a bar.

And the PCL gets out first after arriving, which can save you up to 1/2 hr depending on where you are in line

It's a lot cheaper, than taking a car, and is timed out so that you don't spend a lot of time waiting for the ferry. It's never full either.

Thats what your car is for.

Run up to the top deck, smoke a fatty, run back to your car, get drunk. The time flies by!

Where I am the only way out is by ferry. I prefer to take it riding my motorcycle. They treat us right, no sloppy seconds, we're first on and first off.

The best ferry trip is from Prince Rupert to N. Vancouver Island. Great scenery and you can rent a bunk to relax also. I took it before it sunk and they had a piano bar, so you can get sloshed before the ride into town.

I got a kick out of the casino and pool bit too. Tone down your expectations, it's pretty much a bus on water. The best thing it offers is White Spot.

If you don't mind ridiculous line ups.

The ride in general is really quite nice if you get a good day. You can sit up top and bask in the sun. If you're lucky you may see some Orcas in the distance.

If a person has time they can take a slow route and make stopovers in the Gulf Islands for camping or whatever. When a kid I lived on a small island there and about 30 years ago I camped out next to the ocean with my wife and kids. It was a fine time, especially for those who haven't been around the ocean.

I'm going on the ferry tomorrow to go to Kings of Leon and I'm going to throw on some swim trunks, a towel over my shoulder and ask any staff I see which way to the pool deck.
