As for me the story goes something like this:

17. in the pool with my girlfriend at the time. My buddy and his gf we on the other side of the pool messing around and it was hot inside and cold outside so it was very foggy in the pool area so we could not see down there. Started making out, one thing led to another and it was awesome.
After I swam down and told my friend and got a high five. She was not impressed.

Important to some, not important to others.
Personally, there is no possible way I could care less about who it was with or how old I was. In fact, I am more likely to remember the first time I got drunk when I'm on my death bed.

A lot of my friends did it before me, so I felt a bit of pressure. They gave me a hard time once in a while, of course in a joking manner but it got to me a bit.

Now I've been with more women than any of them, though. So I win.

I don't think you should generalize that it's a big decision for all girls. I'm a girl, and I don't really feel like my first time was a life-changing experience.

I was 17, and it was with a foreigner who was only there for the summer.

You forgot to tell the part of the story where the devil came to you and offered casual sex with women or early access to all EA sports games. You made your decision, and I for one think you should be proud.

I was 16, or perhaps 17. Probably 17. She thought I was good. Truthfully I didn't really like her all that much and the thought of impregnating her was so terrifying I had a tough time finishing the deed.

First time I actually remember the details (or maybe want to) - 18 (4 months later). Thank you RDC English Professor Ms &*$%(@% for the 2 years of Older woman goodness. Sadly that was my last older woman until I was 24. What was I doing chasing young women durring those 4 years. Yes things are tighter and smoother but the actual experience is terrible comparatively.

I certainly thought my first time it was a big decision, and I'm a guy. Now I can't figure out why it was such a big deal, further I have a harder time convincing myself sex itself is a big deal.

I'll add this to the differences between the genders conversation. I'm scared to death of my (3 year old) daughter losing her virginity in the future - obviously. My boys (aged 5 & 8) losing theirs doesn't concern me at all.
