It would also get expensive with the harddrives. The 120GB go for like $130+ or something, and at 8GB's+ a download, it wouldn't last long.

Bear in mind that the major benefit of this service is that Microsoft keeps a record of your purchase. Unlike Apple's service, if you delete something you purchased off your HD, you can re-download it again at no charge. Case in point, I bought the Original XBox title Indigo Prophecy under my XBox live account on my brother's Xbox 360 before I moved out. After I moved into my apartment and bought my own XBox 360, I was able to re-download Indigo Prophecy onto my new 360 for free.

bad part is that you probably won't be able to refund, regift, or sell your games like on steam.

Call me a packrat and oldschool, but I like owning the physical game, with the box art, disc, and instruction manual. I actually like seeing shelf full of games.

I love digital distribution. I would much rather download every single copy of a game, then buy discs for them.

If they adopt a decent pricing sceme and release cheaper storage alternatives, I just might play my 360 again. I guess I'm spoiled with PC gaming and Steam.

Just do what I did and buy a 120gb HD and run all your games off the HD. That's what I do and its great! I never have to use the drive aside from ejecting and saves the laser wear and tear. And most importantly saves me the aircraft engine noise. Its a great luxury to have!

It's a shame that the 120 GB Hard drive is a luxury item though. For the amount they charge for the HDD, you should be getting at least a terabyte of storage space.
