Her/His PR Team are apparently trying to dispel the rumor. Even after she (gaga) made the statement below:
Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. “It's just a little bit of a penis and really doesn''t interfere much with my life,"

Just for fun, there are 8 video's on this page from a mockumentary called the Canadian Conspiracy, a film made in 1985 by the CBC. One of the funniest mocumentaries ever made http://www.youtube.com/view_play_lis...ian+conspiracy
Some quotes
[Eugene Levy claims Leslie Nielsen called him and convinced him to stay in the US despite his homesickness for Canada] Leslie Nielsen: I called him and told HIM not to leave? I'll tell you something. If I had ever called him for any reason, I'd be calling him to tell him TO LEAVE! And that's the truth of it so you know I'm not lying.
[speaking out as a concerned citizen] Steve Martin: And what about Morley Safer? A Canadian. That's right! A *Canadian*! Why is a Canadian doing a job that an American can do just as well?
Narrator: What about 60 Minutes? Why haven't it's *hard hitting* news stories hit *hard* at the Canadian Conspiracy? American Reporter: [interrogation in "60 Minutes" style] What do you know about the Canadian Conspiracy? Morley Safer: Canadian Conspiracy. NO COMMENT! American Reporter: Mr. Safer. Mr. Safe... MISTER SAFER! We know you're friends with Lorne Greene! Bonanza

No, it wasn't. It was the British and the French, most of which considered themselves Canadian. And are you also underestimating and devaluing the contributions of the Natives? That would quite short sighted on your behalf.
Besides, if you want to make that arguement, before the revolution and everything that took place in 1776 was done by Brits until July 1st, 1776. By your logic, it was the Brits that rebelled against the Brits in the US (which didn't exist at the time) to become Americans. While somewhat true, that wasn't the case. Just like in Canada, Brits (and the French in Canada) became Canadians/Americans and rebelled against the crown.
So unless you are old enough and stole a charred piece of the "White House," it was Canadians, Brits, the French, Natives, Metis and Acadians that were all involved.
