Well after a very bad start the Stamps settled down and have been playing more steady for the last quarter and a half.

Third. NCAA is better.
Is there a QB in any league anywhere that is more anti-clutch than Burris? Two absolute ducks on second and third down, not to mention the third down throw would've been short even if it had been completed. The guy just doesn't know how to think the game.
Epic fail by the Stamps tonight.

Crappy way to lose a game. Oh well Stamps offense didn't play well other than Joffrey Reynolds. Burris didn't play very well. Had the short field plenty of times and just ended up with field goals and some 2 and outs.

And then completely underthrows the seam pass to Lewis. Follows it up with another duck on the out route. Most overrated QB in Stamps history.

This is why NFL is better then CFL. Especially when it comes to Defense. How can they give up a big gain TD that easily when they had to prevent that EXACT same thing. It happens numerous times to this team and this league. You think these defenders would be better at containing this.

punt instead of 50 yard fg attempt, different end
burris go 0/6 in last 2 posessions = fail

Wow 6 downs for the stamps in the last 2 minutes and not one reception. The D on 2nd and long or 1st and long was terrible, Sandro misses a key kick and Burris does absolutely nothing to seal the deal for the Roughriders. I only listened on the radio so I can't comment on much else but I'm guessing maybe the Stamps really missed Rambo because the passing just sounded off all night. Roughriders mismanaged the clock and gave the Stamps another chance and they still blew it, that is too bad.

Spoken like someone who's watched very few NFL games. Happen to watch this past Super Bowl? Game was won in the last 30 seconds. The difference is it was won on a spectacular throw and catch as opposed to bush league coverage.

second best? um yep. well it depends on how you see it/i see it/ anyone sees it. i would rather watch cfl over ncaa and ncaa over nfl, does that mean nfl is the 3rd best? nope. Canadian football is certainly one of the more exciting sports around

CFL is exciting in same way a Michael Bay movie is exciting. There may not be any kind of coherent storyline or drama, but there will be lots of explosions and loud noises.

so because the NFL has a big play, its spectacular, but in the CFL its bush league coverage? it was a great play.
but you are right, the last super bowl was the best nfl game i have seen, i remember watching many nfl games/super bowls that have been boring. when you have mistakes or not perfect players, then big plays happen and its exciting. its like the era in the NHL when it was all defence, it was the highest level of hockey and defensive coaching, but it was BORING. sure the CFL isn't perfect, but its pretty good football, and most times the game is entertaining and close, often not said the nfl reg. season. 4 close games this week, one of them very defensive, one of them decided by a point.
good enough for me!

The CFL is relatively entertaining, but very poorly executed football. The Stamps sure stole defeat from the jaws of victory with that gutless possession when they were up six and had the ball on the Sask, 40.

haha i get your point, but there are big games with drama, crowd and storylines. like the one tonight, riders come in with a qb controversy and a two game losing streak, the Stamps lost an important reciever but on a 2 game win streak. both 2-2, riders start strong, then the stamps take momentum. the stamps take control, then defences tighten up, Riders control, then the Stamps contol, then a risky call to run at midfield assuming field goal range. kicker misses his first time of the season with the wind. then riders almost fail but make huge play. Stamps fail to come through in the clutch with two chances. crowd meanwhile makes lots of noise and has an effect on the game. a fun night, too bad the Riders won.

i have seen NFL games quite a bit, and far like the CFL better.
Sure, the Super Bowl was good, but thats a all or nothing game and one of the better games i've seen.
and someone already mentioned: its great in NFL, but bush league in CFL, i guarantee you have called the same play great in the NFL at some point.
During the season when I watch NFL, it gets boring at the end of the game I turn it off, and when i look at the score 95% of the time its the same of when i turned it off.

Go back and watch the Holmes catch. The Cards had perfect coverage, but Roethlisberger and Holmes combined for an absolutely unreal pass/catch combination. Tonight, the secondary blew their coverage and Getzlaf was wide open.

So by that logic you must like the WHL better than the NHL. I'll trade you every Hitmen ticket I buy this year for a Flames ticket. Deal?

I'd hope so, considering there are only 8 freakin teams in the league. The reason there are lot more blowouts in the NFL is because there are 32 teams, so there is a gap in talent. It's kind of like how there's a gap between the Red Wings and the Thrashers in the NHL.
If you look at a weekly NFL scoreboard, you'll ususally find at least 5-7 games decided by a touchdown or less. Here's week 6 of last year for example:

It's easier to like a league when you've got a rooting interest in one of the teams. There's a reason the CFL is a Canadian-only phenomenon and the NFL dominates the rest of the world.

Thanks for presuming what I would think, but no I wouldn't. It's a choke and it's blown coverage no matter which league it happens in.

The reason for that is because it's a league full of better coaches and players. They're better at the their jobs, so they're able to close out a win like professionals.

And I should add that I'm in no way trying to convert CFL fans to NFL fans. In fact, I'd rather you stay the hell away so that the price of Sunday Ticket doesn't go up.

aha. no, but hitmen hockey is quite entertaining. a few reasons here,
the flames are always on tv, in high def. the hitmen are on the tv rarely on shaw, in SD.
the ingame experience is so much better at flames games with the sea of red, the atmosphere(ie full building).
the flames don't have that forced turnover every year that junior teams have, you have guys like Iginla and Regher here for years.
the Flames play teams from cities from across north america, HItmen not as much.
they are both good, but we can both agree that going to a Flames game is more of a treat than going to a Hitmen game.
there are more probably that i can't think of.
anyways Flames games are more expensive so a straight up deal one for one wouldnt be fair would it?
your right, with only 8 teams=4 games/week, there better be some close games, and there are lots of close games in the nfl every week too, your right. i guess i missaid that, i find CFL games to be closer to the last minute, as another poster mentioned, often in the games that are close in the nfl, you know who is going to win with a few minutes left, where in the CFL it is often down to the last minute in a one score game. (due to the shorter timeclock/less downs).
that and i find them more entertaining, but that is my opinion. also following a team from my hometown has an impact in my enjoyment, and the fact that almost all the games during the week have an impact on my favourite teams standings has an impact. if i followed a team in the nfl, there are lots of games that have no impact on my team, teams my team may not play at all during the season. they are opposites in the scheduling i guess, i would rather have about 12 teams (6 in each division) but that will take another 30 years! in the nfl i feel that there could be less teams (and yes, that means i think there should be less teams in the nhl too, but they at least get to play every team)
