I'll be happy to post some video once I get the camera. Unfortunately, Amazon expects it to ship within 1-3 weeks and I only ordered it on Thursday so I might be waiting a while.

In the meantime, I'd suggest you pop over to youtube and search for 'zi8'. There are plenty of sample videos available and now that youtube does HD the quality is pretty good. There's sometimes a bit of jumpiness regarding frame rate, but I'm pretty sure that's just due to the conversion from raw video to youtube video. If you check out the samples, you'll notice that there are some that look perfectly smooth and some that are shaky as all hell. If you're planning to walk around with the camera while filming, be prepared to have some pretty shaky footage. If you're going to stand still and plant yourself for a shot, then I think you can get some really great footage with this camera. But, I guess I'll know for sure in 1-3 weeks!

If anyone happens to see this in a store over the next couple weeks, let me know as I'll gladly cancel my Amazon order to get this puppy sooner!

haha

to whom said Kodak sucks and they are crap now....
well... they are producing awesome low budget cameras. decent ones

anyhoo, if u want a pocket camcorder, this is the best one out on the market. FlipHD and all other ones are below this model now. HD in 60fps is ideal for sports fans (etc)

This one is the best pocket camcorder of all (there is samsung(so-so), sony(it's crap), flip (flipHD and mino), and all other craps)
if u dont like kodak, go for flipmino HD (just came out)

but.. if u wanna go for performance.. GO FOR zi8!!

I just bought this at bestbuy a couple weeks ago. By their price guarantee I got it for $540.00 by showing them the Camera Store website.

It does 1080p60 and has 10X optical zoom and takes 8MP Stills. It seemed like a pretty kick-as deal to me after the price match. No internal HDD, but I got a 32GB Classs 6 SDHC card for $100 so I have more than enough capacity (5 h at 1080p60)

It does some fun, if gimmicky stuff like lower resolution 600fps slo-mo or 240 fps slo-mo. The stills quality isn't as good as my 10MP Canon DSLR, but it's certainly decent to get 8MP photos and not have to carry around two cameras plus my lenses.

BTW - I know it's not as small as a flip camera, but I can actually fit it in my jeans pocket if I'm wearing slightly baggy jeans, or with room to spare in my coat pocket, so it's pretty portable and convenient.

^^^ sounds interesting. It's outside my budget, but perhaps I could save up for it, or wait for a price drop.
