I still believe that $12,000 for 65 hats is too much.
Full disclosure: I still wear the one I got for free downtown.

Pardon me for being cheap

Police officers working in downtown Calgary will soon sport a distinctly western fashion accessory: giant, foam cowboy hats. According to city officials, the new giant, foam hats are both fashionable and hi-larious.

A former friend of the family is a CPS officer. They do take pride in thier uniforms. The hat will be no different.

Fantastic that they are embracing our Western heritage. I saw a couple of officers in the beltline today and they looked quite good.

I only support this move if they also get shiny silver stars, and turn in the Glocks for a nice six-shooter Colt.

I'm worried that we'll see a spike in cop STDs and pregnacy roughly 6 weeks after this goes through.

The regular hats they wear now probably cost the same as their new cowboys hats.

I think they should wear cowboy boots and six-shooters and deputy sheriff's badges too.

All kidding aside, aren't those felt cowboy hats kind of hot in the summer? Maybe ok for the winter but wouldn't a good quality straw hat be more practical in the summer?

Edit: Jammies beat me to it
