you're going to one of the most amazing cities in the world and you're worried about missing a CFL game?

No kidding.

I'd be much more concerned about trying to pack as much NYC glory into that short amount of time rather than trying to find a place to watch a CFL game if I were you!

Well, I'm there for a wedding so the NYC trip is just a bonus. We'll head into the city at like 7am and come back around 5 or 6pm.

I'll definitely skip the Empire State building and see 30 rock instead based on the suggestions. Most certainly not going to the Statue of Liberty because we are limited for time. I'll only be seeing Manhattan.

The CFL game doesn't start until 9pm EST so I almost certainly will be back at the hotel in NJ by then.

You won't want to leave. I'll bet you're in Manhattan til at least 10 pm.

Oh trust me, I'd be there til 5 or 6 am. But if he has a wedding the next day and only wants to be there til 5 pm, i'm gonna say 10 pm is a good guess for when he'll actually leave

I should have mentioned I'm going with the 'rents. I'll be back in NJ by 10pm for sure.

Don't get me wrong I'd love to stay and party in NY by myself but a 90min+ train ride from NY to Long Branch might be sketchy at 2am by myself.

I heart NYC. I could easily live there. So much to do and see. You will have a blast. My roomie and I spent a week there last august, we discovered that Mickey Mantle's sports bar is very nice and has really good food. It's very close to Central Park as well, i think it's right on THE 5th avenue. Just thought i'd mention a good lunch spot that wasn't ridiculously expensive.

So I'm in Tinton Falls NJ. Nice place. Really warm even though it rained today. Had a horrible experience at the Newark airport. Now it is 1030 local time and it is only 830 for me so I'm pretty wide awake. Newark is a total shat hole. Nothing but industrial areas and pollution. Where we are is beautiful though, it is basically cottage country. If I get some nice pics of NYC I'll post them tomorrow night when I get back to the hotel.

Still plan on heading to NYC tomorrow which should be fun.

Yeah, I only took a shuttle from the Newark airport south to Tinton Falls.

Funny part is that this is the second wedding in as many years that I've gone to, on the same weekend no less, that has been out east. Last year was the second biggest hole I've ever been to, Hamilton. And keep in mind I'm from Regina.

Not sure if reading isn't your strong points but I said I'm going to NJ, not NYC. I was only in NYC for about 8 hours.

Anyway about my trip to NYC, it was fantastic. Thanks for the suggestions about going to 30 rock instead of Empire. Going up there was the highlight of everyones day, and since it was my idea, I got all the credit.

Got to see the Empire State Building, Times Square, UN (sucked royal hole), Grand Central Station, Central Park and a couple of other things that slip my mind right now.

Didn't bring a cable for the camera but I have a few pics on the BB that I might post later if I have time. We are supposed to go to the beach area of Long Branch later tonight.

NYC was absolutely fantastic. We had so much fun, see so much cool stuff and I took about 100 pics plus the ones on the BB.

Again, thanks for the (good) suggestions about going to NYC. Malcolm, I should have taken that bet. After walking around Manhattan for 8 hours we were spent and came home, that and I have a wedding tomorrow at 4pm and some really beautiful parts of Jersey to see tonight.

I wore my Rider hat all day and only had one sighting of a fellow CFL fan. RIght in the middle of times square a guy yelled "Riders suck". I asked him who he cheered for and he said Bombers. I had a good laugh.

I was shocked at how many tourists were there. When I post the pics of Times Square, it honestly looks like the red mile. I was happily surprised at how friendly and helpful the New Yorkers were.

Also had a nice discussion with my cabbie on the way from Red Bank back to the hotel about the US/Canada health care systems.

Only pic I have for now from a BB so it is not great quality.
