That's probably enough to put you right on the borderline of being legally impaired.

My buddy had one once, and it was surprising how much each of us could drink and still be under .08. Having said that, I wouldn't want to put it to the test with a cop giving me a breathalizer.

Oh yes I should clarify, I have (recently) ridden a bicycle while intoxicated.
I don't feel too good about it, but gosh, it's fun.

I have driven extremely hammered before, as well as with people who have been hammered. This should be a poll.

I rode a bike once when I was hammered.... or actually the truth is I "attempted" to ride a bike when I was hammered. Not a pretty sight... really wrecked my knee doing it to.
Warning: Do not drink and ride a bicycle at the same time.

Not proud of this but.. in High School it was a weekly thing, University an occasional thing, now a days never at all. I have had two .04's that should have been .08's but the cops let me off easy because they "don't want to have to deal with the paper work"..
I am against it, but I have done it.. so I am not sure if that makes me a reformee or a hypocrit.

I've biked drunk before lol. It wasn't fun for me though. Haven't driven drunk yet, since I've been legal to drive, DUI's seem to be a big deal and I need to keep my drivers license.

I would be interested to see that as a private poll, so people can answer honestly.

I'd say probably twice, maybe three times in my younger days; each time, I knew I had no business getting behind the wheel, but did anyway (or at least, realized it once I was out on the road). I'm pretty sure that I'm mature enough now that I'd never do that again.

Depends on your height, weight, and how fast your body metabolizes the alcohol.
Now me... 6 ft, 250 lbs... probably not.
However someone who is 5 ft and weighs 100 lbs.... maybe so.

.054 with US beers.
Factor in the extra alcohol you lucky Canadians get and it's pretty damn close.

Right, and since I'm at your end of the scale I'm completely comfortable having a couple beers over a few hours. I still don't make a habit of it, mostly because I don't drink all that often so when I do I'd much rather have 8 than 2.

Well seeing as you have no idea how much I weigh or my metabolism that number is 100% inaccurate.

You're not the one that made the initial claim! You're the one that shot down my response to the initial claim.
Since you have no idea how much the guy I was replying to weighs or what his metabolism is like your response was 100% irrelevant!

yep, back in the 80's I ran into a friend's truck in my own driveway. I remember none of it. Incredibly stupid. And I'm a guy who has wrestled more than one set of keys from a friend to stop them from doing the same.

I've never driven drunk(as in you know you're drunk), but probably close to the limit a few times.

That is hilarious! I had no clue. I thought you were sniping me.
Too funny. I would imagine 4 beers in 2 hours would get you closer than you think it would.
I'm on that end of the scale and there's no way I'd drive now after 4 beers in 2 hours.
