It's funny to think of how put off we can be about something like that. A number of years ago I was swimming in the ocean in Mexico and got stung by a jellyfish. My right leg was completely paralized and I was having a difficult time trying to swim back to shore with just one good leg.
In my path was a floater. In pain and also concerned about possibly drowning, I still chose to swim a wide circle around it.

Oh yeah I don't know if there's even a better place to go in the city for girls between the legal age to be perved on and 20 in bikinis. I love Sikome Lake!

How dare you look! Don't you know chicks wear dental floss as bikini bottoms strictly for comfort and not for you to look at! For shame.

It's amazing how disgusting people are. For people that litter or crap in lakes or the ocean I would love to dump garbage trucks worth of manure in their houses to see how they like it. The ocean and lakes are amazing and beautiful and people ruin it. When talking about the search for the French plane that went down off the coast of Brazil they mentioned how much sea trash there is in the ocean, it's unbelievable.
Lake Minapore, Lake Chapperal, Lake Sundance, Lake Sikome - are these privately owned lakes, or will they let any riff-raff in? Where would you find this info?

Lake Sikome is a public place and the rest are private.

Wasn't too bad, definitely geared for families, water was pretty much on par with any public pool facility, maybe a bit less considering it's outdoor, (that's not saying much). Definitely made sure my boy didn't stick his face in it though.
If I lived closer, might be something I'd visit now and then as a short day trip for my son, but not worth the drive from where I am verses the other public pool facilities in Calgary (ie Riley Park) that are much closer. Took about half an hour to get there from where I am.
Definitely wouldn't go without my boy, not really an adult beach, if you're looking for a place for buddies to hang out, go to sylvan or kelowna or float down the bow.
Bumping an old thread... Whats this lake like now in 2012? Is this somewhere you would recommend swimming of fitness? Id like to get some open water swim practice and theres not much in the way of public lakes in and around Calgary.
remember the time when you and i were still in love we lived at the beach to be with people that felt the same remember the songs that we used to sing back when we were groovin' wherever we go we're always at sikome beach remember the time at the bar out by the campgrounds wondering how bangers swim in cut off blue jeans we floated away on a double blue air-mattress thinking about the islands and the streams wherever we go we're always at sikome beach well the sun was hot and we would know that it would take forever just to get back to the shore we're gonna see our friends just to sit and dream there won't be another time that i will feel so free until we reach sikome beach we always got sikome beach
Someone is longing for an old flame.
My advice is...everytime you are drinking and feeling really lonely, call them up and profess your undying love.
