Now this is more like it!
When we're all in camps behind the chickenwire, looking out at our strutting captors with their "Poultry Power!" badges, it'll be too late - we must heed the call of those selfless heroes, such as Bobblehead, who are ever vigilant against the Chicken Peril.

Chickens stink!!
Does the color of the yolk and the age of the chicken have any correlation?
I have always wondered why free range eggs had that darker yolk. They do taste better though!

Does anyone actually know why or WHO brought this issue to the forefront?
It makes no sense, and sounds like a lot of work and mess and stink just to gets some eggs and some drumsticks.
Did a quick search, apparently it costs about $30.00 a month to feed 10 chickens.Eggs are fairly cheap and chicken isn't that pricey either, Whether these chickens/eggs are for personal consumption or for sale, doesn't sound like a good money making venture or even a way to save money on groceries.

so what $3 a month to feed the hen, you get hopefully 20 eggs a month out of it (only for 2 years though then you get a new one). As stated before it's $1.98 a dozen so 20 eggs would be $3.30, plus you add in the start up/maintenance costs I just don't see it being worth it. Also, my neighbours would hate me for it that's another headache I don't need.

Bad idea. Move out of the city if you want to raise chickens.

I'd fricken love to have chickens in my backyard, fresh chicken is one of the most delicious things in the world. So I said good idea, for me personally, in the future.
The whole city having backyard chickens? Ehhhh, no probably not.

I think that this is a great idea for someone else to do and not one of my neighbours, or anyone around my place.

I support backyard chickens bu there is a need to have licencing/enforcement, keep owners responsible and operating within a reasonable limit
other problem that could come up is when hens pass laying age (around 4 years) what happens?
do people keep them as pets? do they slaughter? that is where the problem is, is if these people get too attached to their chickens as pets and then there becomes a large, non-laying population, and presumably, more laying hens brought in

Depends, do we get to blow them away with a 12 guage shotgun at some point? Because that might affect my answer.
Seriously though, people can barely manage to peacefully co-exist and Captain Wackjob McNutbar wants to throw livestock into the mix? Why dont we all just go and live in the Zoo with clubs and call it a big Free For All.

You can say that about a lot of things.
"Geez, Francois; those pigs sure sure are interested in digging down to those roots. Wonder what they are after? Hey, look at that. I wonder if those things taste good?"
And the truffle was discovered.

Well originally he just wanted to have sex with it, but he had to get the frog ready first.

Whatever!
Chickens don't even really exist! They're as fake as the lunar landing film!
