Just a few observations from my trip.

I thought that overall Sarajevo was a very nice city minus the old soviet style buildings. Lots of history and architecture. People were very nice, and most spoke some English. Prices for goods and services were very reasonable. Best currency to use is their own currency the Mark.

I took the tunnel tour which drove around the city and to the other side of the airport where they had dug a tunnel to get supplies into the city during the war. If I had more time I would most certainly have gone out into the country side to tour a bit. I felt very safe and I recommend this place to anyone who may be in this part of Europe.

The one thing I was not use to was the early morning and late night prayers from the mosques. Was interesting but annoying at the same time when all of a sudden loud speakers start blasting the prayers.

Thanks for all the post by everyone that gave me info. Much appreciated.

Went there, it was really cool and I bought some of the bronze and silver plates and dishes.

Make sure you try some cevapi or cevapcici (che-va-pee and che-vap-chee-chee). It's like Bosnian fast food but instead of burgers it is beef sausages in a kind of pita with mustard and stuff.
This?

It was pretty good, but a little to much sausage in one sitting for me.

Welcome to any Islamic country in the world. I don't think you can go more than 3 blocks without running into another mosque, at least in the Middle East.

Wonderful places to go though.
