Really, or do you hate oil futures traders who set the price of the comodity at hand, transportation companies who set the price to haul the gasoline, the retailers who set the price at the pump, and the government who sets the taxes on the pump.

Because that's who you should hate.
When you understand how a comodity market works you can come and rant about the price of gas, and I'm guessing at that point you won't be bitching about the "Oil Companies", because guess what, THEY DON'T SET THE PRICE FOR OIL!

You hate oil companies?
I hate people who go off on uninformed rants about subjects they know nothing about.

If you notice throughout the threads, it's the same guys that bully and scare/intimidate other posters. It's a shame, as this place was uber-great and still is addicting. You'll still find some good guys here posting however. In no way am I referring to me.

Oil is ruled by cartels. It's an illegal business IMO and many new technologies are starting to spring up. Some are just too scared to try them.

The cost of a commodity's inputs has nothing to do with its demand curve.

If you bought a single litre of gas at $0.99 this year, then you're a part of your own made up problem.

While McTeague's website and his rantings might be controversial, I do find that the gas prices are usually bang on if not really close to what it's supposed to be...

I look at it and if I can save money the next day buying gas (even if just a bit) I normally wait.

Why?
Rather than hating that these companies make so much money, I think a smart person would just think to himself "hmm, well I might as well invest in these companies to make money too."
