pics or it didn't happ...no wait a miniute, probably one of the situations I don't want proof of. Not until the baby is at least a few hours (or even minutes) old.

Congrats.

And we're done. Mom and baby are doing great. She wants to leave right now but will be spending the night. That will give me a chance to get his room ready for him. If he didn't show up over two weeks early I would have had time to get everything in order.

Sorry guys no Flames related names. Milo Brennan was the consensus. You can add that to the baby name thread if you want.

Congrats!! Glad to hear everything went well!!

I'm taking note of the "drugged up to the gills" comment. Sounds like it might be a good thing to keep in mind over the next couple weeks.

Congratulations to you all!

Four births and counting for me and I was pretty much terrified at all of them! Well not so much once the epidural kicked in but before that it's flippin intense. Wonder if my wife would be willing to go for a full hockey line (minus the goalie hopefully?) I still feel young....ish!

Best wishes to you both.......and Milo.

Thanks for all the congratulations.

I'm just about to head over to the hospital to make sure Mom and Milo are good to go and after a lot of paperwork we'll come home.

To the ladies (and gents) wondering about the "drugs" she was on and their effects. She had an epidural after about 4 - 5 hours of being in labour. It basically numbs the lower half of your body. She didn't feel any thing but "pressure" (which is when she had to push). She actually laughed during the last push and slept between contractions, which is why I was able to update my family, friends and you guys via my phone.

Drugs aren't the "natural" way of doing things but when you see and hear your wife in that much pain you'll want her to take the drugs.

Way to go guys! Congratulations.

I agree on the drugs. I've been secretly drugging my wife consistently for the last 30 weeks to make sure she is primed and good to go when she hits the labour room.

For those without kids, if your a guy, be prepared to wait around for hours feeling helpless. If you're a gal, give your baby's daddy a break if he looks lost.

I doubt I'll be able to give any "play-by-play" of the birth. I know you're disappointed.

We're havng another boy and Jarome has been vetoed even though they'll share the same birthday. She's not that drugged up I guess.
With both kids my wife woke me up to tell me she was in labour and that it is time to go to the hospital. She didn't wake me up at the start of labour because she didn't want me to be exhausted near the end when she needed me most. My first kid came fast, and was born withing 40 minutes of reaching the hospital, she was in labour for a total of 6 hours. The second kids came slower, my wife was in labour of about 7 hours, and we were at the hospital for about an hour and a half... and we thought that was boring! lol.

So not everybody is lucky enough to wait forever (one of my nephews was born in the vehicle on the way to the hospital). However, there is never a time in your life when you feel any more helpless as when your wife is giving birth.

Oh, and congrats!
