I'd love to see Hot Water Music again, always a great show. Hopefully they do an East coast swing later in the summer. It's odd they're even playing sled island as they are touring Europe until the 27th, that's cutting it a little close.

True that. You Say Party We Say Die were from Calgary too IIRC.

Well, Calgary isn't exactly known as a cultural hotspot. Hopefully events like this continue to change that though. Sled Island is pretty impressive, seems like its gets better every year.

It's a weird situation. The Calgary music scene is pretty poor but it's never going to improve if bands keep leaving. Bands will struggle to make much progress if they don't play in a city with a strong scene. It's a catch 22.
The biggest issue with the Calgary music scene is venues though, it doesn't matter if bands stick around when there are no venues for them to play in.

Chad Van Gaalen and Woodpigeon are both fantastic Calgary acts. Support them.

Man I have been waiting to see Chuck Ragan for a looong time...
Most of the bands I want to see, I've already seen once but here's my list.
Chuck Ragan
Hot water music
The Bronx
No means No
I also wouldn't mind seeing,
the melvins
austin lucas
$170 bucks though... ouch... To be honest I'd be really happy if I could just see the first three.
So how exactly does this work, you buy a wrist band, and you aren't even guaranteed to see the band you want if the venue is full before you get there?
Is it possible to buy individual shows?

Who was in You Say Party We Say Die?
Also, Andrew WK was one of the most disappointing live acts that I've ever seen. I just don't think that kind of ridiculously awesome attitude can be reproduced live easily.
