Does anybody have an opinion on the yamaha speaker set? I'm looking to upgrade and that might be a good option.

I'm still leaning towards the logitech speakers that everybody gushes over around here ...

If I wasnt on a purchasing injunction until my trip to Vegas I would be very tempted with the gaming speakers and hdd media player.

Oh I want 2 of those 30" Widescreen LCD's - unfortunately I cannot justify spending 2K on monitors when I already have a 30" widescreen from Dell and a 22" Viewsonic.

The 22" monitor is also a smoking deal, that monitor has a IPS panel.

EDIT: Correction!! It's the 2209WA that has an IPS panel, the 2209W is a TN panel, nothing to see here.

I want to order a monitor today, my 2005fpw is burned in somewhat now, but I can't decide between the 22" and the 30"

The 30 is nice. - very nice for games and the like. If I was made of money I would buy 3 and have a 4 monitor setup at home.

That would be very swag

The 30" can't do 1:1 pixel mapping display can it? meaning if I put up a 1280 x 1024 image the monitor can't display it can it?

I don't know if my current video card can push that high a resolution.

Ordered one of the 26" LCD TVs - seemed like a great deal for $350.

Heh, yeah.. I think she knows that if she says yes too quickly then I automatically step back because I feel like one of us has to be the voice of reason, so if she doesn't do it I automatically do it.

After looking at some of the reviews and such it looks like a pretty good monitor, but my video card won't be up to gaming at that resolution, and it seems the high gamut really isn't that great, it can actually make things look worse.. something I actually noticed when I bought a 24" Dell and then returned pretty quickly.

An alternative to the Dell 30" might be something like a 32" LG LH30 TV with a S-IPS panel for $699. Less resolution for (1920x1080) your video card to handle and a lot more connections for more versatility.
