correct, if the player is under contract you have to get permission to speak to him from the other team and thus you offer them x amount as compensation and if they like they offer they will give you permission to negotiate a deal with the player to complete the transfer.

Farewell young lad. All the best in Real. Wow, hell of a team they have over there now.
94 million euros gives Manchester United a ton of spending money so there should be some significant moves. Although according to most Liverpool supporters Manchester United have already spent triple the money this summer of any other team.
He still has to agree to a contract with Real by June 30. It will be interesting to see how much he gets. It will be mind boggling that's for sure.

Wow, Ronaldo finally moves, in the 3rd year of this speculation?
As for Arsenal's debt, they are knee deep in it due to the new Emirates Stadium. But like mentioned, they are hardly considered big buyers this summer.

Finally gone...thank God. Although, with Real adding Kaka and now Ronaldo, they're looking to improve big time.
I dont really like Real Madrid, I think they're essentially the Man U of Spain, but I have huge respect for Kaka, its too bad he went where careers go to die.
Now, it would be really funny if Ronaldo cant earn his spot away from Raul or someone....

Thank god is right.....
Villa is also rumored to go to Real as well. Could you imagine if Real landed Kaka, Ronaldo, and Villa in the same week?!

Thankfully, I've heard Chelsea is in pole position for Villa, cause that would be just sick. EDIT: Uh oh, looks like Chelsea's bid was rejected. God, they really could be adding Villa next...
What's pretty interesting is that there's been a surprising amount of big moves (25m+) announced before the transfer market has even opened. Real is really flexing their muscles, Juve is being strategic on a more normal scale, and we still haven't heard from the other likely big spenders, Barca, Man City and likely now Man U, Chelsea and Milan.

I hope Chelsea doesnt land Villa, I want him in Liverpool, that Torres/Villa combo is lethal, in true form look for Chelsea to start picking up AC's pieces, if Pato is in play I could see Ancelotti making a grab for him just like when Scolari tried taking his old Brazil and Portugal players to Chelsea when he was in charge.

Real Madrid is like the New York Yankees, they don't care about the $ amount, just get the guy that's high profile, with a ton of publicity.
I guess that's the main reason I dislike them

I think they just paste the same story every year and change the target names. Everyone is always linked with a move to Manchester United, when you are one of the biggest clubs in the world of course everyone is linked with you.
Of course we will buy everyone. We can't let Liverpool outbid us. That's why we have spent 800 billion more pounds than Liverpool in the past three years

I'm not convinced Villa and Drogba can co-exist. Drogba seems to prefer to be the lone finishing threat, with offensive wingers, but who knows.
One thing is certain, its looking like a good summer to be a Juventus fan (for the first time in years). Diego is a huge emerging talent (not playing in Confed for Brazil due to club request - injury), and the rumor is they are spending big on a Trezeguet replacement, a Pirlo-type midfielder (D'Agostino) and some quality wingbacks. Meanwhile, AC Milan is selling their best players, Inter spent 30m on guys that are unproven on top clubs, and apparently Ibrahimovic is about to be sold for a much lesser striker in Eto'o.

As a Ronaldo fan, I don't like the move at all. Ronaldo was the go to guy at Man U. He was United. He's not gonna be the same guy at Madrid and of course, he can be a baby, so I don't think it's gonna sit well with him when people are giving Kaka more than love than him.
Having said all that, I'm just happy it's over.

The Ronaldo deal is a really good move for United. That's a heck of a lot of dough for one player. They could easily turn that into 3 or 4 very useful players. It can only help their depth.
Darnit all to hell!
I'd love Villa at Liverpool too. Not sure that I can see it happening under the current regime though. Darnit all to hell again....

Of course it all depends what new system Real introduces, but even then, Ronaldo is a winger while Raul plays the role of Attacking Midfielder.
What I'm thinking is that Real will play with a variant of the 4-2-2-2 rotating to a 4-2-3-1
The second formation will most likely suit what Real Madrid is trying to do...Ronaldo, Kaka, and Raul in the midfield with the possible David Villa up front. If Van Nistelroy returns they might go for two strikers but I'm guessing the aging Dutch player is on his way out.
Every Spanish news paper is reporting that Villa will sign with Real. From what he is saying is that he wants to stay in Spain.

Real Madrid are on the brink of signing David Villa from Valencia after Chelsea were told that they had no chance of signing him, according to the Blues' Spanish scout Juan Cruz Sol is the English team's representative in Spain and he stated that Chelsea have been given a firm "no" to their offer for the player because the Mestalla club are "in advanced negotiations with Real Madrid".
