"To get back to the warning that I received. You may take it with however many grains of salt that you wish. That the brown acid that is circulating around us isn't too good. It is suggested that you stay away from that. Of course it's your own trip. So be my guest, but please be advised that there is a warning on that one, ok?"

Oh really? So it was pre-planned and everything? That puts a different spin on it.

But to try to act like you were trying to "inspire" people and give them a different outlook on life makes you sound like a pompous dousche. You were dancing like a dummy. It get a bunch of other people up & dancing. Someone videotaped it and slapped it on Youtube. Now you're the flavour of the week. That's all that happened. Get over yourself.

He's being bombarded by media who are trying to make a story. What else do you want him to say?
He's having fun with it :P

What it’s saying to me is that it seems like this (dance) is filling some gap or void in people’s lives,” he says, “giving them a little bit of leadership and getting them to realize we don’t all have to be corporate logo T-shirts sitting in a square little box in front of our respective Tim Hortons or Subways — although I do love Subway

That last bit cracked me up.

This is actually the second video. He was sponsored by Sprint gum for the second one. The first one sounds like it was a lot more random though...I guess for the second video he just put up on his website that he was going to be in in town at this place and time and just hoped people showed up.

I agree with the having fun with it part, how could you not? I just thought that comment he made which I commented on was full of self-righteous BS and douscheyness. Why can't he say something to the effect of "I'm glad and think its funny so many people are enjoying this, its kind of strange but it's cool", and then continue to f*** around with the media, not "I hope my weirdo dancing changes people's lives and makes them become a better person". I don't think he was kidding about that part. I just thought it was a really egotistical thing to say. To each his own I guess.
Have fun with your short-lived fame, but don't let it get to your head and start believing you're changing people's friggin lives.

Jealous much? I bet you wish YOU could be flavor of the week! Me, personally, am the flavor of an entire beer empire! Although I'm sure I could drag up a few alter-boys to ask them what a Sainter tastes like.

As far as being the flavour of the moment, Wynter seems to understand that 21st century-style YouTube fame can be fleeting.
“It’s the three-legged cat that barks kind of thing, you know what I mean?” he says. “Tomorrow it’s going to be a pink person that sets off alarms when you go by cars. I’m fine with that.

Seems like he understands that

Well, the story is obviously interesting enough to get you commenting on it. So you've pretty much answered your own questions.

I'm surprised at how people get so annoyed when some guy gets his 15 minutes.

I'm not surprised at all. I knew people were gonna start piling on the guy. Its a harmless fun little video, and I think it was pretty cool that something like that transpired and people let loose and had some fun. But there's always the bitter people who are ready to point fingers and call someone a "######" at the drop of a hat. Its the internet, its to be expected.

This story just made it to the Marketing Guru Seth Godin:
Quote:
Guy #3
Paul just sent over this video of a dance tribe forming spontaneously at a music festival.
My favorite part happens just before the first minute mark. That's when guy #3 joins the group. Before him, it was just a crazy dancing guy and then maybe one other crazy guy. But it's guy #3 who made it a movement.
Initiators are rare indeed, but it's scary to be the leader. Guy #3 is rare too, but it's a lot less scary and just as important. Guy #49 is irrelevant. No bravery points for being part of the mob.
We need more guy #3s.

Man some of you are totally dead inside and get bent out of shape about the simplest of things.
THIS SHOULDN'T BE IN THE NEWS SECTION.
Dear lord... give your head a shake.
