I noticed they broke this a few weeks ago, so the new URL is appreciated.

Does this streaming take a lot of data if you are on 3G? I'm always concerned about my data use with media.

According to the reviews it only works for Rogers Wireless customers. What a freaking joke.

That would be because 960 is a Rogers property. In fact, it's actually called the Rogers Radio iPhone App.

Bleh. Just buy TuneIn Radio for your iPhone and be done with it. Best radio app currently out there, bar none. Has all of the FAN radio sites, not just Calgary's. Has bookmarks that follow you between devices and their website. Pretty cheap. iOS4 multitasking. The bees knees

Right, I thought "Rogers Radio iphone App" would mean that you could get all of the Rogers Radio Properties on it, not that you would be required to have a rogers wireless subscription.

Why would you limit the exposure of your radio stations to one wireless provider instead of all of them?

I tested it with WunderRadio on the iPad using MyWi on the iPhone to stream through the 3G network. I timed it for 10 minutes and it streamed about 5 megabytes worth of data. So you are looking at a usage of approx 30MB per hour.

EDIT. I discovered that I was listening to a 64kb stream. I was able to select the 32kb stream and of course that cut the data usage in half to 15MB per hour. So a full game say 4 hours straight including pregame and post game would eat up 60 Megabytes of data.

Yes I know I could have just done the math but it was more fun doing a real world test.

The CFL BlackBerry app is for Telus customers only and the NHL BlackBerry app is for Bell customers only. It's pretty common practice.

^^ This.

Spend $2 and get a real radio app that plays stations from all over the world (including the FAN network).

FStream seemingly stopped working on my 3gs for both wifi and 3g. Was there any change or does anyone know why? Thanks

Looks like 960 changed their stream URL again. Can't find another one, but there's plenty of apps in the appstore that you can stream 960 from. I use RadioBox, but I think there's a Rogers Radio app you could get for free. Hope that helps.

I have an Android phone and use the "TuneIn Radio" app. There are also versions for the IPhone/etc.

There are 2 streams - Flash and WMA, and the Flash stream never works for me.

Give it a try...

Another vote for Tune-In. No hassles and any station you can think of. I think I found it because it was recommended by CBC.

Actually it is $0.99 right now. Best buck I have spent on a app.
