I have sharing issues between my Vista desktop and my Vista laptop, but the desktop and an older XP laptop work just fine (and it is the Vista Desktop that is sharing the folder).

I absolutely hate the way file sharing is setup in Vista. Looks like they tried to mimic Apple's method of making it mostly automatic -- cept it just doesn't work.

The strange thing is my old machine I had serving the media and the Vista laptop had no problems reading it. Then I built a new Vista64 machine and suddenly I couldn't share media. I figured I must have something wrong on the new desktop since the laptop worked fine before. Then a couple weeks ago I inherited an old laptop that had XP on it, and lo and behold it sees the Public folder on the desktop just fine.

MS has gotten into the habit of trying to make everything really easy. And that is awesome IF it works. When it doesn't, they have hidden/moved all the complexity (where you used to be able to figure out the issues) and it is tough to trouble shoot.

Windows Vista!

Crashes more than XP, doesn't recover from crashes, but I use it anyways because XP doesn't support my 3D drivers.

Seriously, with XP the only time my computer would restart is when Windows updated. With Vista it seems like half the time I launch a game I end up hitting the reset button. Ctrl+Alt+Del = useless. WDF?

My Cubase install tells me all the time that it can't find Reason through the ReWire, but it works properly in every way.

Every time I turn on the external speakers on my computer at work I get blasted by nasty static. I'm sure there's a way to fix that but I just put up with it.

We migrated to Kaspersky anti-virus on our work computers recently (instead of Norton). Aside from being cheaper, Kaspersky also uses more system resources and is a real jerk when it comes to running other programs or accessing the internet while it's doing its group scan thang. Group scan takes about 3-4 hours and happens three times a week. During that time the internet is really, really slow and other programs run at a leisurely pace. Can't do anything about it so I just put up with it.

My keyboard and mouse cords at work have this weird tendency to become wrapped around my foot. All it takes is for me to spin in my chair to answer the phone and stuff goes flying everywhere from my keyboard tray. I know this could be fixed easily with a wireless keyboard/mouse combo or just pinning the cords up under my desk but for some reason I have just put up with it. For three years now.
