I can't believe how little I saw on here about Jiri's "ducks"

Jiri's ducks should be a thread tag.

Seriously, does any station in Canada have an overnight call-in sports show?
If the Fan did a good one, it could be everywhere?

Jason Smith was GREAT IMO. He was funny, and very interesting to listen to. His opinions were really refreshing and I loved his way of explaining everything. I miss listening to that show before I got to bed.

I was only half awake, did Kirkwood drop an F-bomb this morning around 6:50?

I made sure I left him a visitors message about it.

Then looked for a thread dedicated to his gaffe and found nothing so I assumed I was one of a very select group who heard it or put 2 and 2 together.

All Night with Jason Smith was a great talk show. I miss it as well.

I heard that the reason The Team 1260 and Fan 960 switched from ESPN to Fox is because ESPN jacked up their rates in a big way to Canadian markets. The reason they jacked up their rates is because TSN is looking at launching a nationwide sports radio station which will utilize ESPN's content. This station would likely compete with The Fan 960 and Team 1260 (plus Fan 590. Team 1200 is owned by CTV and would also be part of TSN's new radio network).

Team 1040 is owned by CTV Globemedia so they're obviously sticking with ESPN because they'll probably be one of the stations that is part of TSN's new cross-country radio format.

For those wondering, Team 1260 doesn't play playoff games because as a non-NHL team rightsholder they can't. 630 CHED has the ability to, but they haven't up to this point. I think they're planning to air the Stanley Cup Finals though.

The part about ESPN jacking the rates is 100% true. I didn't know why though, I thought they were just being ######y.
