I have Psoriasis and it's not really fun to have. I don't have huge spots though I do have them. I have to get UV treatment every day at the dermatologist.

I have it on my scalp too. And you're right, if you don't use it for a few days then your head itches like crazy. For me, the Psoriasis on my scalp is the worst.

I don't know how well following these directions work. About two years ago I pretty much did all of that for weight loss purposes (lost about 80 lbs) and that was when my Psoriasis showed up. I never really had problems with it until I started doing things like the items that you listed.

I have kind of a re-occurring skin deal on my right arm... it's usually from heat. I don't think it's psoriosis, but I don't know. It only started last year when I was in Orlando... it's minor and only comes back every few weeks but it drives me nuts. It's super itchy little red bumps that afflict my inner elbow. Anyone know what this is? It isn't dry or flaky. It's more like a rash... but why does it come back when I'm hot, aka in hot weather, playing sports... basically when I sweat?

I think it's called Clini-Derm, I get it from Superstore in the pharmacy dept, over the counter. There's a few different brands though, it should all work the same. When I first got diagnosed I was livin in Vancouver in '04 and used a different brand, it had similar results. It's completely unscented(all those products that give shampoo its nice smells are what drive my scalp crazy). It works great, you could seriously move the hairs on my head and stare directly at my scalp and you'd never know.

Though one time I went away on vacation for a week and forgot it, ohh man was that sheer torture! It's as itchy as mosquito bites if you leave it a few days. If you leave it long enough, it becomes all red, and eventually bloody bumps will start to appear due to too much oil build-up. It ain't pretty.(I actually have seborrheic-psoriasis)

I've been doing this for about a week... MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT!

I also wash with olive oil and Castor oil mix. Works great for my skin.

I use T-Gel to control mine, and thank god it stays mostly on my scalp. I have had it develop in other areas, especially if I'm stressed, but with some topical steroid cream (the cream is disgustingly greasy though) it usually goes away and stays away when I'm not stressed.

The frustrating part for me was I had it for 3 years before I actually went to a doctor who told me what it was. (Went to one who said I had exzema, and then waited until my fiance made me go again to a different doctor).

He was surprised that I said I had no family history of it. Later that week I mentioned it to my dad and he said, "Oh yeah, your grandpa had that", and then it all made sense. Then I found that my sister had similar issues on her scalp and suddenly a genetic condition made all the sense in the world.

I have no actual information for you, but I know a guy who's in your kind of boat. A large part of his body was afflicted and it really impacted his way of life. He got into some trial drug program and it cured him 100%. Of course the drug trial ended and he wasn't able to continue using it. He's gone so far as to look into getting it from Mexico.

Doesnt sound like psoriasis, though thats a visual diagnosis. Sounds like it could be exercise induced urticaria. Try taking some anti-histamines before hot exercise, and see if that prevents it. If so, you've got your answer.

Nasty, nasty disease. Especially if one has severe psoriasis.I have a friend I've known since high school acquire it. I think he's had it for 4-6 years. It went from starting on his shins to ravaging most of his body. The guy used to be the life of the party and now he practically hates life. I saw him about 6 moths ago. He took off his shirt and my brother and I were shocked. His back is all scaly, his elbows, arms and scalp are just a war zone. And he says his genitalia is just as bad. He says he uses steroid based creams and some uv treatment but it doesn't help too much. I felt so bad for the guy. Scary how something can invade your body like that. I'll mention that Remicade thing to him.
