It's odd how much I have come to rely on the internet for consumer and business transactions. It's common practice for me to look up a company or a store or a person to do some background checking or price comparison, etc.

If that business doesn't have an online presence I will rarely patronize them.

If they have a cheesey or half-hearted presence they lose a lot of points in my mind.

Surely I can't be the only one out there who thinks like this. That being said, I think you should really consider doing something professional with your web presence. It doesn't have to be over the top but just something that doesn't scream "MS Frontpage tutorial".

I'm of the same mindset.

I can't recall the last time I cracked open the yellow pages to find anything. The first place I go is Google. I think the majority of the population is shifting this way. If you give it 5-10 years, the yellow pages as we know it will only be found in the archives of a museum.
