That's awesome! Right in front of Moonshiners. I bet they were patrons of III Cheers though.

That was right in front of the the old City Limits on 11th ave. I think I recognized one of the hot dog vendors, right beside the dark skinned guy who sold roses bar to bar.....

The best part is when the tight pants guy puts up his finger "1 second time out here" while he picks something up and sweat pants guy had a clear kick to his face but somehow missed.

Can somebody please point out where this actual intersection is? Or Google maps it? I have to visit this holy site of mortal combat.
Also - somebody edit in some Street Fighter music.

It's definitly 11th Avenue and 6th street sw.
Watched the Flames win the cup in that very bar in the background in 1989.

Yep, definitely 11 Ave and 6 St SW on the old Electric Avenue strip. The club in the background is the nightclub called Electric Avenue, 3 stories of mayhem. I think it's now a fitness center.
Kudos to these young lads for not using weapons like today's youth.

I laughed at the little guy who went to try and break it up and that pick biker dude grabbed him by the neck and yanked him back.

... and if you've ever been grabbed by the next, you know how painful that can be!

Watching that led me to the video of the kid who gets shot in the head with paintballs. His reaction had my crying with laughter.

^^and the running of the bulls video where the guy falls in the tunnel. Pretty amazing nobody dies in that. And the dude at 1:32 does indeed get completely destroyed.

How sad that many people here don't know where electric avenue was.
How sad that the city had to go all nazi and shut it down. You'd think they could have found a way to make it work. Staggered closing times or no closing times would have gone a long way, I'd think.
That strip was pretty legendary through most of Canada for a while. You visited Calgary as a twenty-something year old, there was no question as where to go.
fox and firkin, king's horse, coconot joes, 3 cheers, Yankee doodle, the upstairs part of yankee doodle where you got to sit in lazy boys to watch the games, while being served by waitresses in lingerie... ah good times.
I don't think I ever made it to the bar called electric ave though.
There was a lot of nostalgia there for me. Oh well, I guess I went and got too old to make any use of it these days anyway.
